MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
AUGUST 22, 2001
Bougie main indicated that he has dedicated right-of--way to the City already.
Bougie felt that any additional right-of way needed should come from the
other side of the road. Bougie pointed out that in 1985 the discussion was that
additional right-of--way for Condit would come from both sides of the road.
Fahey indicated that he is willing to look at the option of taking right-of way
from the east side of the road. Fahey suggested that it would be helpful to have
a map that shows the Condit right-of--way and which property it came from.
Fahey again pointed out that the City's standard is 50 feet ofright-of--way for a
residential road. The pavement width would be 28 to 30 feet.
Bougie stated that he was opposed to the additional right-of--way coming
entirely from his property.
The City Administrator indicated that he would try to put some information
together on where the Condit Street right-of--way came from.
Nancy Waisted, property owner in the area, pointed out that Condit provides
access for a very limited number of properties and questioned the need for
widening the street.
Fahey pointed out that the City is not planning to widen the street at this time,
but would do so in the future. Fahey also indicated that when a property is
developed or subdivided, it is standard practice to take any needed right-of-
way at that time.
Wasted indicated that NSP has approached her about running a line through
her back yard. They indicated that the line is needed because there are plans
for the road to be redone.
The City Administrator replied that the City has not initiated any road
improvement plans for Condit Street. He also noted that the development
proposed this evening will not be allowed to use Condit Street.
Bougie asked if it were possible to raise the NSP lines hanging over his
property. He also indicated that the cable company damaged his yard and he
would like it repaired. Fahey suggested that Bougie contact these utilities. If
he cannot get a resolution to his concerns, Fahey asked that Bougie contact
him and he would provide assistance.
Elaine Zoch reported that while they would prefer not to have an
office/warehouse building across the street from them, the building proposed
appears satisfactory. Bougie stated that he would like to have a berm in front
of his house sirmilar to the one being proposed by R. J. Marco Construction for
~~
