MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
OCTOBER 24, 2001
CUP - Mayor Fahey opened the Public Hearing to consider a Conditional Use
317 DEMONT Permit allowing construction of an accessory garage structure in addition to
AVENUE - an existing attached garage at 317 Demont Avenue as requested by Dave
YOUNGQUIST Youngquist. Fahey noted that the Planning Commission recommended
approval subject to compliance with the recommendations of the City Planner
and subject to review by the Public Works Director.
There was no one present from the general public wishing to comment on this
matter.
Upon motion by LaValle, seconded by Montour, the public hearing was
closed.
Scalze asked how far the accessory garage would be from the side lot line.
Youngquist was not sure, but estimated the distance at greater than 10 feet.
The City Planner estimated the setback at 16 to 18 feet.
Anderson pointed out the concerns of the adjacent property owner with
drainage and the recommendation of the Public Works Director that the
accessory garage be placed further back into the hill. Youngquist replied that
he agreed with the recommendation of the Public Works Director and would
place the garage as recommended.
Scalze noted that there is no driveway proposed to the accessory garage.
Youngquist replied that that is correct. He would be driving over the grass to
access the garage and get his boat in and out.
Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 20(11-10-239-APPROVINGA CONDITIONAL U.S`E
PERMIT AI LOWING THE CONSTRUCTION OFANACCESSORY
C,ARAC,E STRUCTURE IN ADDITION TO AN EXISTING ATTACHED
GARAGE AT 317 DEMONT AVENUE AS REQUESTED 13Y DAVE
YOUNGQUIST SU73.IECT TO COMPLIANCE WITH TIIE
RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE CITY PLANNER AND THE PUBLIC
WORKS DIRECTOR
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze.
Ayes (5) LaValle, Scalze, Anderson, Fahey, Montour.
Nays (0).
