MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
DECEMBER 19, 2001
Fahey pointed out that when the City participated in the 1993 improvement at a
rate of 20%, the property owners were informed that this was aone-time
commitment from the City.
The City Administrator indicated that this issue does not need to be decided
tonight, but pointed out it will come up at the improvement hearing.
The Council discussed the proposed width of Market Place Drive, and the City
Administrator recommended a 32-foot wide street with no on-street parking.
He noted that the area will be surrounded by parking lot, therefore, on-street
parking should not be necessary. Scalze asked if the Development Guide
called for on-street parking. The City Administrator did not believe it did.
Scalze pointed out that if on-street parking is allowed, the City may end up
with semi-truck parking on the street similar to what previously was occurring
in this area.
Mr. Fahey introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
12ESOL.UTION NO. 2001-12-29G -DECLARING THAT THE
IMPROVEMENT OF MARKET PLACE DRIVE W1LL CONSIST OP A
32-FOOT f20AD W1D7"H WITH NOON-STREE"T PARKING AS
RF.,COMMENDED BY THE CITY AllMINISTI2ATOR
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze.
Ayes (5) Fahey, Scalze, Montour, Anderson, LaValle_
Nays (0).
