MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
FEBRUARY 9, 2000
TRAFFIC The Public Works Director presented plans for the installation of
LIGHT - traffic lights and right turn lanes at South Owasso Blvd. and Rice
RICE & Street. He noted that there will be some impact to the landscaping
SOUTH installed by the A & W on this corner. However, given the traffic
OWASSO from South Owasso Blvd. onto Rice Street, both the traffic light and
BLVD. the right-turn lane is warranted. Estimated cost to the City for the traffc
light is $38,000. The cost of the right-turn lane is estimated at $20,000.
These costs would be paid from the City's MSA Funds.
Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RE.SOI. UTION NO. 2000-2-4R -APPROVING THE AGREEMENT
WITH MN DOT FOR TRAFFIC SIC,NALS AND RIGHT TURN
L ANES AT THE INTER,S`ECTION OF RICE STREET AND SOUTH
OWASSO BLVD. AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY
ADMINLSTRATOR TO EXECUTE THIS AGREEMENT ON 73EHALF
OF THE CITY WITH THE CITY'S SHARE OF PRO.IECT COSTS TO
COME FROM MSA FUNDS
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Pedersen.
Ayes (5) LaValle, Pedersen, Morelan, Fahey, Scalze.
Nays (0), Resolution declared adopted.
DELONAIS The City Administrator asked the Council if they would support the
PROPERTY purchase of the DeLonais property at the appraised value of $350,000
along with allowing Kathy DeLonais-Adams to claim a gift to the City of
an amount over the $350,000 as documented by her appraisal.
The City Attorney recommended that if the City does not proceed with
performance on the option agreement within the next seven business days,
it should commence action to obtain the property. If a revised purchase
agreement is to be negotiated, then that agreement must be in a form that
is enforceable.
The Council was in support of these suggestions.
ADJOURN Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOI.
