MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />APRIL 12, 2000 <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze. <br />Ayes (5) Morelan, Scalze, Pedersen, LaValle, Fahey. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />DICK On behalf of the City, Mayor Fahey presented Dick Pinomaki with <br />PINOMAKI - an appreciation award for his service as a volunteer instructor for the <br />APPRECIATION 55 Alive Mature Driving Course sponsored by AARP and the City. <br />AWARD Mr. Pinomaki has been volunteering his services since February of 1993 <br />and has recently passed the 1,000 mark relative to the number of people he <br />has provided instruction for. <br />REZONING - Mayor Fahey opened the continuation of public hearing to consider the <br />PARK PLACE rezoning of the Park Place property from Single-Family Residential (R-1) <br />and General Business (B-3) to Medium-Family Residential (R-2). The R- <br />2 zoning is appropriate for the Park Place townhome development <br />proposed by Masterpiece Homes on this property. It was noted that the <br />Planning Commission has recommended approval of the rezoning. <br />There was no one present from the general public wishing to comment on <br />this matter. <br />Upon motion by Scalze, seconded by LaValle, the public hearing was <br />closed. <br />Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />REb'07. UTION NO. 2 0110-4-8 2 -APPROVING THE REZONING OF <br />PARK PLACE PROPERTY FROM SINGLE-FAMILY RESIDENTIAL <br />(R-I) AND GENERA7.13USINESS (I3-3) TO MEDIUM-FAMIL Y <br />RESSIDENTIAI. (R-2) SU73JECT TO COMPLIANCE WITH THE <br />RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE PLANNING COMMLSSION <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle. <br />Ayes (5) Scalze, LaValle, Pedersen, Morelan, Fahey. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />The City Administrator reported that he would have the development <br />agreement for Park Place ready for Council consideration at its next <br />meeting. Gordie Howe, Masterpiece Homes has requested that he be <br />allowed to construct one model home on the property prior to the <br />recording of the final plat. The Administrator indicated that construction <br />is proposed to start as soon as the development agreement is approved. <br />
