Resolution declared adopted.
REQUEST FOR John Miller, Pitrina Park Townhome Association, appeared before the
LOWERING Council requesting that the speed limit on Centerville Road in the area
OF SPEED of Allan Avenue be lowered. Miller described some of the hazards which
LIMIT ON exist at the intersection and noted the additional traffic at the intersection
CENTERVILLE since the development of the Pitrina Park townhomes.
ROAD
Fahey pointed out that Centerville Road is a county road and the
recommendation from staff is that the petition from the Pitrina Park
Townhome Association be forwarded on to Ramsey County. The City
Administrator reported that once the County receives the petition, it will
request that the State conduct a speed study in this area of Centerville
Road. Council felt that a speed limit
of 35 mph would be most appropriate.
Mr. Morelan introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 2000-7--166 -ACCEPTING THE PITRINA PARK
TOWNHOME ASSOCIATION PETITION AND REQUESTING THAT
RAMSEY COUNTY CONDUCT A SPEED ANALYb7S OF
CENTERVII.I.E ROAD FROMLITTI.E CANADA ROAD TO
COUNTYROAD D AND COUNTYROAD D FROM CENTERVILLE
ROAD TO EDGERTON WITH THE COUNCIL'S POSITION THAT
THE SPEED LIMIT SHOULD I3E LOWERED TO 35 MILES PER
HOUR
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze.
Ayes (4) Morelan, Scalze, Pedersen, Fahey.
Nays (0).
