MINUTES CITY COUNCIL JULY 12, 2000 *APPROVING A TEMPORARY LIQUOR LICENSE FOR LITTLE CANADA RECREATIONA.SSOCIATIONDURING THE CANADIAN DAYS CELEI3RATIONPENDING RECEIPT OF LIQUOR LIA73ILITY INSURANCE; *APPROVING THE LITTLE CANADA ROAD PONDING EASEMENTS AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE THE EASEMENTS ON BEHALF OF THE CITY The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Morelan. Ayes (4) Scalze, Morelan, Fahey, Pedersen. Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. LITTLE Council discussed the fact that Council Member LaValle has indicated CANADA ROAD that he supports the installation of electrical outlets in the street lights IMPROVEMENT- that will be installed as part of the reconstruction of Little Canada Road. ELECTRICAL Therefore, there is a consensus in support of the electrical outlets. OUTLETS ON STREET LIGHTS The City Administrator requested that the Council take action on this item so that the street lighting contract can be finalized with NSP. Fahey indicated that he agreed with Council Members Morelan and LaValle that the outlets should be installed. He felt it would be short sighted not to include them at this time and that the cost to install them later, if that decision were made later on, would be much more. Mr. Morelan introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 2000-7--168 -APPROVING THE INSTALLATION OF ELECTRICAL OUTLETS ON STREET LIGHTS AS PART OF THE LITTLE CANADA ROAD IMPROVEMENT PROJECT AS RECOMMENDED I3Y THE CITYADMINISTRATOR AT ACOST OF $8,960 The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Fahey. Ayes (3) Morelan, Fahey, Scalze. Nays (1) Pedersen. Resolution declared adopted. Scalze indicated that while she was opposed to the electrical outlets, she voted in favor because the Council's consensus was in support of the outlets and she did not want to delay the resolution of this issue any longer.
