MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />JULY 12, 2000 <br />*APPROVING A TEMPORARY LIQUOR LICENSE FOR LITTLE <br />CANADA RECREATIONA.SSOCIATIONDURING THE CANADIAN <br />DAYS CELEI3RATIONPENDING RECEIPT OF LIQUOR <br />LIA73ILITY INSURANCE; <br />*APPROVING THE LITTLE CANADA ROAD PONDING <br />EASEMENTS AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE <br />THE EASEMENTS ON BEHALF OF THE CITY <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Morelan. <br />Ayes (4) Scalze, Morelan, Fahey, Pedersen. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />LITTLE Council discussed the fact that Council Member LaValle has indicated <br />CANADA ROAD that he supports the installation of electrical outlets in the street lights <br />IMPROVEMENT- that will be installed as part of the reconstruction of Little Canada Road. <br />ELECTRICAL Therefore, there is a consensus in support of the electrical outlets. <br />OUTLETS ON <br />STREET LIGHTS The City Administrator requested that the Council take action on this item <br /> so that the street lighting contract can be finalized with NSP. <br />Fahey indicated that he agreed with Council Members Morelan and <br />LaValle that the outlets should be installed. He felt it would be short <br />sighted not to include them at this time and that the cost to install them <br />later, if that decision were made later on, would be much more. <br />Mr. Morelan introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2000-7--168 -APPROVING THE INSTALLATION <br />OF ELECTRICAL OUTLETS ON STREET LIGHTS AS PART OF <br />THE LITTLE CANADA ROAD IMPROVEMENT PROJECT AS <br />RECOMMENDED I3Y THE CITYADMINISTRATOR AT ACOST OF <br />$8,960 <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Fahey. <br />Ayes (3) Morelan, Fahey, Scalze. <br />Nays (1) Pedersen. Resolution declared adopted. <br />Scalze indicated that while she was opposed to the electrical outlets, she <br />voted in favor because the Council's consensus was in support of the <br />outlets and she did not want to delay the resolution of this issue any <br />longer. <br />
