MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
AUGUST 9, 2000
SCULLY John Scully, 3000 LaBore Road, asked the status of any discussions
WETLAND with the City of Maplewood on the impact that Maplewood has had
ISSUE on property east of LaBore Road. Scully noted that since Maplewood has
developed to the east, run-off has been diverted to Little Canada making
once dry property into wetland.
The City Administrator noted that he will be sending out the minutes from
a recent neighborhood meeting as well as a survey by Friday this week.
The results of that survey will be presented to the Council at its August
23`d meeting.
Fahey indicated that Little Canada cannot sit back and allow development
in Maplewood to turn this Little Canada property into wetland. Fahey felt
that the Maplewood drainage must be corrected prior to a wetland
delineation of the area being done. Fahey suggested that the City
Attorney, City Engineer, and City Administrator plan a course of action
for action against Maplewood and the Watershed on behalf of Little
Canada residents. Morelan agreed, and pointed out that either the problem
must be corrected or Little Canada property owners must be compensated.
The City Administrator reported that the matter will be brought back to the
Council at their August 23rd meeting.
ADJOURN Mr. Morelan introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 2000-8-187 -AD.IOURNING
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Fahey.
Ayes (3) Morelan, Fahey, Pedersen.
Nays (0).
