MINUTES CITY COUNCIL AUGUST 23, 2000 The City Administrator presented the agreement with NSP for burying of powerlines in conjunction with the Little Canada Road improvement. The net cost of this work is $225,000 which is below estimate. Mr. Morelan introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOI,UTIONNO. 2000-8-207 -APPROVING THE AGREEMENT WITH NSP FOR BURYING OF POWERI.INES AS PART OF THE LITTLE CANADA ROAD IMPROVEMENT PROJECT AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITYADMINISTRATOR TO EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT ON EEHALF OF THE CITY The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Fahey. Ayes (5) Morelan, Fahey, Scalze, Pedersen, LaValle. Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. ASPEN The City Administrator reported that work has begun to reconstruct the TRAIL pathway around Aspen Pond. Prior to construction commencing, the neighborhood was surveyed to determine if there were any objections to replacing the existing five-foot wide path with an eight-foot wide path. The majority of the neighborhood was agreeable to the eight-foot wide path. It was also pointed out that in the future there will be increased maintenance along the path to ensure that tree roots do not damage the blacktop. TRANSIT The City Administrator presented the Council with a revised agreement HUB with the Met Council relating to the transit hub proposed in the area of AGREEMENT the Market Place Shopping Center. The City Administrator recommended AND CHANGE approval. ORDER Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 2000-8-202 -APPROVING THE JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT WITH THE METROPOLITAN COUNCIL FOR TRANSIT HUB AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY ADMINISTRATOR TO EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT ON 13EHAI.F OF THE CITY, AS WELL AS APPROVING THE CHANGE-ORDER FOR THE LITTLE CANADA ROAD IMPROVEMENT PROJECT AS RELATES TO THE TRANSIT HUI3 22
