MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />AUGUST 23, 2000 <br />The City Administrator presented the agreement with NSP for burying of <br />powerlines in conjunction with the Little Canada Road improvement. The <br />net cost of this work is $225,000 which is below estimate. <br />Mr. Morelan introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOI,UTIONNO. 2000-8-207 -APPROVING THE AGREEMENT <br />WITH NSP FOR BURYING OF POWERI.INES AS PART OF THE <br />LITTLE CANADA ROAD IMPROVEMENT PROJECT AND <br />AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITYADMINISTRATOR TO <br />EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT ON EEHALF OF THE CITY <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Fahey. <br />Ayes (5) Morelan, Fahey, Scalze, Pedersen, LaValle. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />ASPEN The City Administrator reported that work has begun to reconstruct the <br />TRAIL pathway around Aspen Pond. Prior to construction commencing, the <br />neighborhood was surveyed to determine if there were any objections to <br />replacing the existing five-foot wide path with an eight-foot wide path. <br />The majority of the neighborhood was agreeable to the eight-foot wide <br />path. It was also pointed out that in the future there will be increased <br />maintenance along the path to ensure that tree roots do not damage the <br />blacktop. <br />TRANSIT The City Administrator presented the Council with a revised agreement <br />HUB with the Met Council relating to the transit hub proposed in the area of <br />AGREEMENT the Market Place Shopping Center. The City Administrator recommended <br />AND CHANGE approval. <br />ORDER <br />Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2000-8-202 -APPROVING THE JOINT POWERS <br />AGREEMENT WITH THE METROPOLITAN COUNCIL FOR <br />TRANSIT HUB AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY <br />ADMINISTRATOR TO EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT ON 13EHAI.F <br />OF THE CITY, AS WELL AS APPROVING THE CHANGE-ORDER <br />FOR THE LITTLE CANADA ROAD IMPROVEMENT PROJECT AS <br />RELATES TO THE TRANSIT HUI3 <br />22 <br />
