MINUTES CITY COUNCIL OCTOBER 11, 2000 10% FUND The Council reviewed the City Administrator's recommendation relative BUDGET to the 10% Fund Budget to allocate 10% Funds for 2001 to park development. It was noted that the Council can consider funding of Canadian Days fireworks as part of the General Fund Budget. Morelan stated that he understands the reason for the recommendation, but felt that the formal process for 10% funds should still be followed. Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOL UTION NO. 2000-I0-245 -ADOPTING THE RECOMMENDATION OF THE CITY ADMINLSTRATOR ALLOCATING l0% FUNDS TO PARKS` DEVEL OPMENT IN 2001 The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze. Ayes (4) LaValle, Scalze, Pedersen, Fahey. Nays (1) Morelan. Resolution declared adopted. INCREASING The City Administrator reported that the State Law requires the Council CITY LEVY pass a resolution increasing the City's levy if the preliminary levy amount is over the prior year's levy by a certain percentage. It was noted that the 2001 preliminary net levy reflects a 5% increase over 2000. The Counci] indicated, however, that it is their intent to reduce the preliminary levy prior to the City's Truth In Taxation hearing. Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOI. UTION NO. 2000-I 0-246 - A UTIIORIZING A TAX RATE INCREA.S`E BASED ON A PRELIMINARY NET LEVY INCREASE OF 5% FOR THE 2001 BUDGET The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Morelan. Ayes (5) Scalze, Morelan, Pedersen, Fahey, LaValle. Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted.
