MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />OCTOBER 11, 2000 <br />10% FUND The Council reviewed the City Administrator's recommendation relative <br />BUDGET to the 10% Fund Budget to allocate 10% Funds for 2001 to park <br />development. It was noted that the Council can consider funding of <br />Canadian Days fireworks as part of the General Fund Budget. <br />Morelan stated that he understands the reason for the recommendation, but <br />felt that the formal process for 10% funds should still be followed. <br />Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOL UTION NO. 2000-I0-245 -ADOPTING THE <br />RECOMMENDATION OF THE CITY ADMINLSTRATOR <br />ALLOCATING l0% FUNDS TO PARKS` DEVEL OPMENT IN 2001 <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze. <br />Ayes (4) LaValle, Scalze, Pedersen, Fahey. <br />Nays (1) Morelan. Resolution declared adopted. <br />INCREASING The City Administrator reported that the State Law requires the Council <br />CITY LEVY pass a resolution increasing the City's levy if the preliminary levy amount <br />is over the prior year's levy by a certain percentage. It was noted that the <br />2001 preliminary net levy reflects a 5% increase over 2000. The Counci] <br />indicated, however, that it is their intent to reduce the preliminary levy <br />prior to the City's Truth In Taxation hearing. <br />Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOI. UTION NO. 2000-I 0-246 - A UTIIORIZING A TAX RATE <br />INCREA.S`E BASED ON A PRELIMINARY NET LEVY INCREASE <br />OF 5% FOR THE 2001 BUDGET <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Morelan. <br />Ayes (5) Scalze, Morelan, Pedersen, Fahey, LaValle. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />BUDGET Mr. Pedersen introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />WORKSHOPS <br />RESOLUTIONNO. 2000-IO-247-CANCELLING THE OCT073ER I8, <br />2000 73UDGET WORKSHOP AND CALLING FOR A 73UDGET <br />WORKSHOP ON NOVEMBER 1, 2000 AT 7 P.M.
