MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />DECEMBER 20, 2000 <br />RESCHEDULE Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />JANUARY 10TH <br />COUNCIL RESOL UTION NO. 2000-I2-294 -RESCHEDULING THE JANUARY <br />MEETING 10, 2001 REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING TO JANUARY 3, 2001 AT <br />7:30 P.M. <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Fahey. <br />Ayes (5) LaValle, Fa11ey, Pedersen, Morelan, Scalze. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />LAND Messrs. Marls Hotzler and Bob Grootwassink, owners of the Market <br />DONATION - Place Shopping Center, appeared before the Council to donate a one acre <br />MARKET PLACE parcel of property adjacent to Garden Terrace to the City. Hotzler and <br />SHOPPING Grootwassinlc acknowledged the interest in this parcel for the potential <br />CENTER expansion of Garden. Terrace senior housing. Hotzler and Grootwassink <br />reported that they will supply the City with clear title and a deed for the <br />property hopefiilly by the end of the year. <br />Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOL UTION NO. 2000-12-295 -ACCEPTING WITH SINCERE <br />GRATITUDE THE DONATION OF PROPERTY FROM MESSRS. <br />MARICHOTT.LER AND BOB GROOTWASSINKSUBJECT TO THE <br />PAYMENT OF ALL TAXES ON THE PROPERTYAND SUBJECT TO <br />DELIVERY OF CLEAR TITLE AND A DEED FOR THE PARCEL <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Morelan. <br />Ayes (5) Scalze, Morelan, Fahey, Pedersen, LaValle. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />LaValle asked the status of a grocery store locating in the Market Place <br />Shopping Center. Hotzler reported that they are currently negotiating with <br />anew grocery store and are optimistic that the store will open within 60 <br />days. Grootwassiiilc also reported that he is hoping to bring in a proposal <br />to construct afree-standing Snyders store on the former DeLonais site by <br />early sununer. <br />2001 STREET The Council reviewed the recommendation of City staff to move forward <br />IMPROVEMENTS with improvement hearings for Sextant Avenue, Australian Avenue, <br />Bluwood Avenue, and the Twin Lake area on January 17tH <br />
