MINUTF,S OF THE REGULAR MEF,TING <br />PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />APRIL 6, 2000 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Parks & Recreation <br />Commission of the City of Little Canada, Minnesota was held ou the 6°i day of April, 2000 in <br />the Cormcil Chambers of the City Center located at 515 Little Canada Road East in said City. <br />Chair Matt Anderson called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. and the following members of <br />the Commission were present: <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Mr. Matthew Anderson, Chair <br />Mr. James Broten <br />Ms. Carla Danielson <br />Ms. Ginger Sackett Glaser <br />Mr. Robert Schabacker <br />MEMBERS ABSENT: Mr. David Gray <br />Mr. Craig Larson <br />ALSO PRESENT: Mr. Jim Morelan, Parks & Recreation Director <br />Ms. Kris Pechman, Recording Secretary <br />MINUTES Schabacker recma»~e~:ded that the minutes of the March 2, 2000 meetiizg be approved as <br />submitted. <br />Motior: seconded by Sackett Glaser. <br />Motion: carried 5 - 0. <br />GERVAIS Anderson reported that he and the Director attended Ramsey County's public hearing held on <br />BEACH March 14 at Little Canada City Center regarding future improvements to Gervais Beach. <br />The improvements Ramsey County has been discussing include the following: <br />• Removing the picnic shelter. <br />• Redefining the sand area. <br />• Re-grading the site to improve drainage. <br />• Adding a fishing pier. <br />• Reconstructing the beach house. <br />Anderson stated that the County has applied for a grant to help fund the project. The <br />Director indicated that the County will move ahead with the project regardless of the grant <br />outcome. However, the project may take longer -possibly two years - to complete. <br />PLANNING Anderson stated that he and Sackett Glaser attended a planning session on April 5 that was <br />iESSION held with the Mayor, Council and City staff. Everyone attending presented a wish list and <br />then they voted on the ideas. Thirty goals were presented. Of those 30, six were specifically <br />Page 1 of 4 <br />
