MINUTES
Parks & Recreation Commission
September 7, 2000
Sackett Glaser recommended soliciting public input through the end of November on
naming the Jackson Street park, if the Council approves the Park Namizzg Policy
recomnzezzded to them by the Commissiozz. The public would then Ge invited to the
Commission's January meeting.
Motion seconded by Gray.
Motion carried 7- 0.
PROJECTS The projects update is as follows:
UPDATE
• The Aspen Pond trail paving is not done yet. The trail will be expanded from a five foot
trail to eight feet. Paving should begin within two weeks.
• The Spooner Park trails project will be started shortly. Paving should begin within two
weeks.
• The Gervais Mill Park entrance project will be put out for bid this fall.
• The Round Lake Pump House well maybe reactivated in order to supply irrigation to the
plants at the new park as well as be a water source for the proposed fountain.
DIRECTOR'S The Director reported on the following:
REPORT
• Current recreation registration flyers were passed out to all Commission members
including information on basketball league and fall gymnastics. Tonight is the first night
of registration for these activities. Registrations are being accepted through September
14.
OTHER Schabacher stated that the Blacktern Office Park turned out nice. He asked what was decided
upon regarding a trail in that area. The City Administrator stated that the developer was not
required to improve a trail and they had no interest in one. However, the businesses that
purchased the town offices may be interested. The developer is looking into buying more
land from the County just north of the Blacktern development for construction of more
offices. Maybe then, a trail in the area would be feasible.
ADJOURN Sackett Glaser recommended that the meetizzg Ge adjourned.
Motion seconded Gy Danielson.
Motion carried 7 - 0.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 9:38 p.m.
Respe ~f illy sub, fitted,
a
is Pec i1 nian
