MINUTES <br />Parks & Recreation Commission <br />September 7, 2000 <br />Sackett Glaser recommended soliciting public input through the end of November on <br />naming the Jackson Street park, if the Council approves the Park Namizzg Policy <br />recomnzezzded to them by the Commissiozz. The public would then Ge invited to the <br />Commission's January meeting. <br />Motion seconded by Gray. <br />Motion carried 7- 0. <br />PROJECTS The projects update is as follows: <br />UPDATE <br />• The Aspen Pond trail paving is not done yet. The trail will be expanded from a five foot <br />trail to eight feet. Paving should begin within two weeks. <br />• The Spooner Park trails project will be started shortly. Paving should begin within two <br />weeks. <br />• The Gervais Mill Park entrance project will be put out for bid this fall. <br />• The Round Lake Pump House well maybe reactivated in order to supply irrigation to the <br />plants at the new park as well as be a water source for the proposed fountain. <br />DIRECTOR'S The Director reported on the following: <br />REPORT <br />• Current recreation registration flyers were passed out to all Commission members <br />including information on basketball league and fall gymnastics. Tonight is the first night <br />of registration for these activities. Registrations are being accepted through September <br />14. <br />OTHER Schabacher stated that the Blacktern Office Park turned out nice. He asked what was decided <br />upon regarding a trail in that area. The City Administrator stated that the developer was not <br />required to improve a trail and they had no interest in one. However, the businesses that <br />purchased the town offices may be interested. The developer is looking into buying more <br />land from the County just north of the Blacktern development for construction of more <br />offices.
