The City Administrator reported that when
plans are reviewed, compliance with parking requirements will be a part of
that review.
PARHING ON Karen Johnson, 2345 Arcade Street, appeared before the Council to
COUNTY request the removal of no parking signs along County Road B-2.
ROAD B-2 Johnson indicated that it was not until she received the City's recent
newsletter did she realize that the no parking signs had been installed, and
was concerned that property owners were not notified and given the
opportunity to comment on whether or not the signs should go up.
Johnson pointed out that County Road B-2 is a residential street. Many
properties along the street have small driveways, therefore, on occasion
need to utilize on-street parking. Johnson felt it was not reasonable to
expect property owners to request parking permits pointing out that there
are times when friends drop over unexpectedly and on-street parking is
needed. Johnson felt that the needs of bikers and walkers can co-exist
Page 24
