MINUTES
Parks & Recreation Commission
December 7, 2000
Danielson stated that attendance was low this sununer -approximately 40 people at most of
the concerts. The Roseville Area Jazz Band and the kids' concert had the best attendance
records. She felt that attendance could be increased with more advertising. The Director felt
it was possible to increase attendance with more advertising, but questioned whether it would
be worth the additional money that would be spent.
Danielson suggested moving the concerts to June since many people take vacations in July
and August. Sackett Glaser felt that the number of concerts should not be decreased since
that may hurt attendance even more. Usually numbers increase by word of mouth.
The Commission decided to give this item some thought and therefore tabled it until the next
meeting.
PROJECTS Sanders stated that he had no items to report.
UPDATE
DIRECTOR'S The Director reported on the following:
REPORT
• A Wild Hockey bus trip took place on November I5. 40 people attended and had a good
time.
• The LCRA recently funded basketball backboard replacement at Little Canada
Elementary School cafeteria gym.
• Fifteen teams are registered for basketball league.
