MICHAEL R. MELLOY
5880 Sunrise Drive
Minneapolis, Mimiesota 55419
Tel: 612.920.0610
Fax: 612.925.1849
March 31, 2000
Steve Grittman, City Planner
City of Little Canada
515 Little Canada Road
Little Canada, Minnesota 55117-1600
Re: Coliseum Billiards
Dear Mr. Grittman:
,..
In connection with our application for an amusement center license to establish and
operate a billiard room at Market Place Shopping Center, 2900 Rice Street, Little Canada, I have
~ set forth below a general outline of our intentions along with some personal background
information.
Coliseum Billiards
It is our mission to offer the finest pool, billiard and snooker equipment available. Top-of-
the-line equipment serves to create a respected forum to attract top players and inspire committed
involvement by skilled amateurs and newcomers. Plus, we will host world class tournaments for
men and women in all three cue sport disciplines (3-cushion billiards, pool and snooker). We will
regularly stage local pool and billiard tournaments for play by be~.nners, skilled amateurs and
professionals, promote men's and women's leagues, and host teaching clinics by world-renowned
champions to promote the sport and improve playing skill.
It is also our mission to promote not only pocket billiards, but also 3-cushion billiards in
the upper midwest. Currently, there are no billiard rooms in the State of Minnesota offering top
quality 3-cushion billiard tables for the substantial number of avid 3-cushion enthusiasts in the
area. I have spoken to many of these enthusiasts in St. Paul and Minneapolis, and find them to be
very excited that a quality billiard room offering professional tables and equipment will soon open
in their neighborhood.
Page 30
