Regular Meeting _ A; '.1 6, 1954 <br />The Cleric. read a letter from Tndepend.ent School District <br />No. 3 together with an attached resolution of the board of that <br />school district changing the name of the Net~r Canada Elementary School <br />to 'Little Canada Elementary School." This resolution had. been adopted. <br />by the school board on Parch 11, 1954. <br />The V17.1age Clerk read a letter which the v17.lage attorney <br />lzad written to the Minne>ota. State Highway Department perta3.ning to <br />the proposed Highway /~10. This letter was written pursuant to in- <br />structions given to the villa.{;e attorney by the council at the March <br />meeting. The letter called attention of the Highway Department to <br />the necessity for providing for traffic safety regulation equipment <br />at the intersections of the proposed Highway x!10 at Demont Street <br />and. at Little Canada Road. <br />The Cleric read. a letter which he had sent to the Highway De- <br />partment asking for sins to be insta7.led on trunk highways where <br />they crossed the village limits ahowing tYzat traffic using the highway <br />is entering the village. <br />All of the foregoing communications were received as re- <br />ported. <br />A4r. S. F;d~,rard Ericson, deputy clerk of the vil7.age who had <br />done considerable work in gathering infbrma.tion and preparing data <br />for the incorporation of the village, stated that he believed that <br />under the law stating that the village should pay the expenses of in- <br />corporation that he is entitled to be paid for his time he estimated. at <br />€350.00. Upon motion by Nadeau, seconded by Vitale, it was <br />'RESOLVED, that P4r. S. Edward Ericson be <br />paid the sum of Fifty Dollars 0 50.00) for <br />the work. done by him in assembling the infor- <br />mation, data and atatistical material and the <br />preparation thereof necessary and pertinent to <br />the incorporation of the village, providing <br />first that the village attorney check to see <br />that th.e village can .legally rnaY,e this payment. <br />Ayes - 5 <br />The r~lution was adopted. <br />Mayor <br />the primary <br />the village <br />position to <br />struct;ed to <br />handled. <br />rielancon said that some <br />and. ~enera.l elections <br />would be the school or <br />authoritatively answer <br />inquire of the County <br />Nays -- 0 <br />people had asked him if, during <br />this fall, the polling place for <br />the fire hall.
