Regular Meeting - Apr9.l 6, 1954 <br />The village attorney advised tyre, Council that in order to <br />prevent damage to village roads and streets by heavy construction <br />trucks during the springtime peg=lod when road limits are in effect <br />on these streets, th.e building inspector should be i.nstru.eted by the <br />Council. to a.dvi.se a1.1 those who receive building permits that the <br />work. authorized under the permit will be immediately stopped if the <br />building inspector receives evidence that the contractor or any of <br />his suppliers are violating road limit restrictions, Upon motion by <br />Vitale, seconded by Loeffler, it was <br />"RESOLVED, th.a.t th.e building inspector <br />be and is hereby instructed to stop work on <br />any buildings in process of construction <br />when he receives evidence to the effect that <br />the contractor or a.ny supplier hauling ma- <br />terials to 'the construction site has violated <br />the springtime road limit restrictions a.nd <br />that all building permits issued shall be <br />stamped c,rith a roaarning to this effect a.nd <br />that the village prov3.d.e at its expense such <br />stamp for the use of the building inspector." <br />Ayes - 5 Nays - 0 <br />The resolution vaas adopted. <br />COMMUNICATIONS & 1~iESSAGES <br />The Clerk read. a letter from Sheriff Gibbons inviting a1.1 <br />who desire to attend a civilla.n clefenae meeting to be held at Ma.hto- <br />medi Highschool on Thursday, April ~3, 1954 at 8:00 F.M. <br />The Clerk advised the Council that he has received communi- <br />cations and helpful advice from the Minnesota League of Municipa.lit;ies <br />and that the Council should consld.er the matter of enrolling our <br />village as a member of the League. The Clerk was instructed by the <br />Mayor to communicate with the League of b^:unicipa,lities and inquire <br />as to the membership fees. <br />The Village Glerk read. a letter from the lJ. .S. Census Bureau <br />asking for a complete map and the population of the village. <br />The Clerk read a letter from the Minneapolis Sheet Metal, <br />Heating and Air Conditioning Association requesting copies of the <br />village building code, zoning 1a.cas, etc. <br />The Clerk read a letter from the Minnesota, Department of <br />Realth stating that a. complaint had been received from local citizens <br />concerning the operation of a dump on the shore of Lake Cxervais. The <br />Clerk. advised the Council that he had previously referred this let- <br />ter to the village attorney and tYra.t the village attorney had. answered. <br />the letter. This answer was also read by the Clerk as vaas the reply <br />received from the Department of Health. <br />4 <br />
