Regular Meeting -~.,une 1, 1954 newt regular meeting of the Council on Suly 6, 1954 since Carl Spooner, one of the Counc3.1 members, was absent and the mayor said he felt all members of the Council should vote on beer li- censes. Thero was no ob,~ection so the matter was laid over. Mr. r~11111am Stenger, 2717 Centerville Road, asked oahat could be done to repair Gervais Creek Road. He was informed by the Council that Donald Roberts, who 1s responsible for construc- tion in that area, had not completed the road as required and un- til he had done so the Village cannot maintain the road or do any work on it. Mr. Stenger said he realized that the Village could not do any work but he oaondered if the V111age could do anything to help him get some action out of Mr. Roberts. The clerk offered to arrange an appointment tait.h Mr. Carley, the village engineer, to have Mr. Stenger in company with the engineer discuss this matter with Mr. Roberts. Mr. Stenger ale6 asked what, if anything, could be done to requix•e Harold Meehan, owner of property on the East side of Centerville Road immediately South of the water works right-of-wa,y, to fill in a small, deep pond which is presently being used as a dump. Upon motion by Nadeau, seconded by Vitale, this matter was referred to the V111age Board of Health for inspection and report. Ayes - 4 Nays - 0 The motion was carried. Nr. Garske, who resides on LaBore Road East of Edgerton, informed tJ~e Council that he would like to have something done to clean out the drainage ditch along the North side of County Road "D" which he said is a county ditch. He was advised to petition the Ramsey County Board of Commissioners and the County Engineer since the location North of County Road °D° is actually outside of the V111age of Little Canada. Mr. Hillestad of Savage Lane who is constructing a new .home, and Mr. Fuhs of 319 Savage Lane, asked for culverts to be in- stalled at their driveways or that the gutters be bla.cktopped, which- ever the village engineer recommended. Mr. E. Chester, also of Savage Lane, asked if that road was going to be bladed. Upon motion by Nadeau, seconded by Loeffler, both requests were referred to M11ner Carley, village engineer, for inspection and recammendation. Ayes - 4 Nays - 0 The motion was carried. Mr. Lond.in, vi7.lage building inspector, advised the Coun- cil that it has been the policy 1n the pact for the township to grant building permits to churches, schools, and other non--profit organizations without payment of a fee therefor, Upon motion by Vitale, seconded by Loeff ter, it was "RESOLVED, That all building per- mits issued to churches, schools, or other non-profit organizations be issued free of charge."
