Regular Meeting -~.,une 1, 1954 <br />newt regular meeting of the Council on Suly 6, 1954 since Carl <br />Spooner, one of the Counc3.1 members, was absent and the mayor <br />said he felt all members of the Council should vote on beer li- <br />censes. Thero was no ob,~ection so the matter was laid over. <br />Mr. r~11111am Stenger, 2717 Centerville Road, asked oahat <br />could be done to repair Gervais Creek Road. He was informed by <br />the Council that Donald Roberts, who 1s responsible for construc- <br />tion in that area, had not completed the road as required and un- <br />til he had done so the Village cannot maintain the road or do any <br />work on it. Mr. Stenger said he realized that the Village could <br />not do any work but he oaondered if the V111age could do anything <br />to help him get some action out of Mr. Roberts. The clerk offered <br />to arrange an appointment tait.h Mr. Carley, the village engineer, to <br />have Mr. Stenger in company with the engineer discuss this matter <br />with Mr. Roberts. <br />Mr. Stenger ale6 asked what, if anything, could be done <br />to requix•e Harold Meehan, owner of property on the East side of <br />Centerville Road immediately South of the water works right-of-wa,y, <br />to fill in a small, deep pond which is presently being used as a <br />dump. Upon motion by Nadeau, seconded by Vitale, this matter was <br />referred to the V111age Board of Health for inspection and report. <br />Ayes - 4 Nays - 0 <br />The motion was carried. <br />Nr. Garske, who resides on LaBore Road East of Edgerton, <br />informed tJ~e Council that he would like to have something done to <br />clean out the drainage ditch along the North side of County Road <br />"D" which he said is a county ditch. He was advised to petition <br />the Ramsey County Board of Commissioners and the County Engineer <br />since the location North of County Road °D° is actually outside <br />of the V111age of Little Canada. <br />Mr. Hillestad of Savage Lane who is constructing a new <br />.home, and Mr. Fuhs of 319 Savage Lane, asked for culverts to be in- <br />stalled at their driveways or that the gutters be bla.cktopped, which- <br />ever the village engineer recommended. Mr. E. Chester, also of <br />Savage Lane, asked if that road was going to be bladed. Upon motion <br />by Nadeau, seconded by Loeffler, both requests were referred to <br />M11ner Carley, village engineer, for inspection and recammendation. <br />Ayes - 4 Nays - 0 <br />The motion was carried. <br />Mr. Lond.in, vi7.lage building inspector, advised the Coun- <br />cil that it has been the policy 1n the pact for the township to <br />grant building permits to churches, schools, and other non--profit <br />organizations without payment of a fee therefor, Upon motion by <br />Vitale, seconded by Loeff ter, it was <br />"RESOLVED, That all building per- <br />mits issued to churches, schools, or other <br />non-profit organizations be issued free <br />of charge." <br />Ayes - 4 Nays - 0 <br />C2) <br />
