Regular. Meeting - S~°~tember 7, 1954 <br />'Phe clerk read. a letter from Sheriff Gibbons relating to <br />safety and. calling attention to the fact that chi7.d_ren in great <br />numbers will now be traveling the higYrvaays of the county going to <br />and frorn scktool. The letter wa.s received and. filed. <br />The clerk read a letter from the I~9innesota League of <br />Nunicipallties pert'a.ining to membership in that organizat9.on. This <br />letter w~+s received and filed for future reference. <br />The Counc9.1 went over the budget figures presented by <br />the clerk, the village attorney and by S< Ed.ward Ericson, Assistant <br />Clerk. The Council was advised that it would be necessary tQ estab- <br />lish a budget for the coming year and advl.se the county auditor on <br />or before September 14th of the amount to be lev9-ed for village pur- <br />poses for tide coming year, tTpon motion by Spooner, seconded by <br />Nadeau, it was <br />"RESOLVED, That the v27.1rage clerk notify the <br />county auditor that the V11.1age of Little Canada <br />has established Eight Thousand Five ';Iundred Dollars <br />08,500>00) as the sum needed for the village <br />general fund to be raised by t<zxes on real and per- <br />sonal property, such taxes to be levied in accor- <br />dance with the law by the county auditor>" <br />Ayes - 3 Nays - 0 <br />The resolution Baas adopted. <br />There t~ras considerable discussion about the fact that a <br />developer wa.s constructing large numbers of houses in New Canada <br />Township and that that developer had recently purchased sixteen acres <br />within the village. It ora.s pointed out drat unless we increase ou.r <br />lot size and require some changes with reference to sewage disposal <br />we would ps~obably find ourselves in very serious troub:Le t~tithin a <br />few years. iJpon motion by Nadeau seconded by Spooner, it was moved <br />to adopt <br />ORDINANCE X10 <br />AN ORDINANCE AD4E1\TDING ORDINANCE N0. 9 ENTITLED <br />"AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING, AIfPLIN'YTIQG AND <br />REVISING Ti:IE BCtIL,DING CODli]; CREATING AND CON-- <br />`i'INUING THE OFFTCE OF BiJILDING INSPECTOR; VALT- <br />DATING ALL PEftI-iI`i'S ISSUuD AND CONS'1RUCTION <br />At7TH0~tIZED UNDER THE CODE HERETOFORE A~XISTIiV'G <br />AND REPEALING RESOLU`~'.IONS, ORDINANCES OR PARTS <br />THEREON' INCONOIS'PEAr'>~ ,'3EREG°Il'PH. <br />After further discussion, the mayor ordered the clerk to <br />ca11 the roll, The roll being called, there were Ayes 3 and Nays U <br />as follooas: <br />_ 4 <br />
