MINUTES OF THE MEETING <br />OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE <br />VILLAGE OF LITTLE CANADA <br />et jf ;~ ,~- ;t ae <br />The regular meeting of the Council of the Village of Little Canada <br />was held at the Little Canada Fire Station on Tuesdays October 5s 1951 at <br />7:30 P.M. The follooring Covncil members were present: <br />Louis W. Melancons Mayor; Roy P, Nadeau' C1ork; <br />Edward R. Loeffler, Carl Spooner, Jahn M. Vitale' <br />Trustees. <br />Also present were 5, Ed7,aard. EY•icsons Assistant Clerk, Fred P. Hemmers Village <br />Attorney, and. Oscar Londins Building Snspecter. <br />The meeting was ca]..led i;o order by the Mayor. Minutes of the regular <br />meeting of September 7, 195L4 were approved as read. <br />Mrs. Carl Mullaney of 2227 Hendry Place was present and asked again <br />the same question she had asked dozens o£ other times -- why some of the drive- <br />ways were overlooked. Mr. Carley z•rent into considerable detail explaining the <br />work that was done' why it was done and hol~* it was done. He advised her that <br />her driveway needs to have work done on it. and w9.11 be attended to very soon. <br />iJpon motion by Nadeau, seconded by Loeffler' it was <br />"RESOLVED, That the Clerk write a letter to the County <br />Board requesting five (5) large warning signs bearing the <br />statement, Speed hirrd.t ~0 m.p.h. Roads Patrolled.t and also <br />requesting that the county make a survey of the traffic con- <br />ditions on County Road B from Rice Street to Fdgerton to de- <br />termine what can be done to reduce the excessive speed9.ng <br />not~r going on at that location.~~ <br />Ayes - 5 Nays - 0 <br />The resolution oras adopted. <br />Mr. Robert Damiani of 22I~0 Hendry Place conapl.ained of the condition of <br />hi.s driveway where it COnnE?C(;e with the street. Mr. Carley stated that he wou]sl <br />check this and do whatever work is necessary. <br />There followed considerable discussion about fire ordinances and the <br />control and burning of weeds and grass. Tt was informally agreed by members <br />of the Council that they do some investigating of this problem and inquire what <br />other municipalities are doing, to prevent unnecessary fires. <br />Tho Clerk read a letter from the Little Canada Fare Departuent invit- <br />ing the Council to attend the regular meeting of the Department on Monday even- <br />ings October 1.1ths for the purpose of discussing a fire service contract.
