Edward Ericson be and <br />is hereby appointed as deputy clerk of the vil- <br />lage." <br />Ayes - 5 Nays - 0 <br />The resolution was adopted. <br />The Mayor recognized Mr. H. D. Van Krevelen of the State <br />Highway I)epartrnent who was present for the purpose of presenting new <br />layout, plats of Highway ~~10 and a resolution requested by the State <br />Highway Department.. Mr. Van Krevelen and another employee of the <br />I-li.ghway Department who was with him presented maps and explained de- <br />tails. A great number of questions were asked by the Council and <br />other persons present. After discussion the Council took under con- <br />side.rat.i on the proposed resolution which had been prepared by the <br />Highway Department. <br />Upon motion by Spooner, seconded by Vitale, it was <br />"RESOLVED, That the resolution as prepared by <br />the State Highway Department be and is hereby <br />adopted and is inserted in and made a part of the <br />minutes of this meeting and attached to these <br />mintzt:es and fully set, forth herein." <br />Ayes - 5 Nays - 0 <br />The resolution was adopted. <br />Mr, Van Krevelen, before leaving, told the Council, that he <br />would be back at a future date with further construction details for <br />Council consideration and approval. <br />The, Mayor then recognized Mr. M. Tretter af' the Northern <br />States Power Company. Mr. Tretter presented a map of the village <br />showing the locations of homes and explained further about the Northern <br />States Power Company~s plans to bring gas service into the Village. <br />He explained t11at the homes North of County Road "B" from Rice Street <br />to Edgerton could be serviced early this spring, Following Tretter~s <br />explartation, Mr. Memmer, Village Attorney, called the attention of <br />the Council to the fact that in the City of White Bear steps were <br />being considered to form a competii:ive private gas distribution com- <br />pany which would obtain its supply of gas from a northern natural gas <br />(+ <br />
