Regular Meeting - January (1_, 1955 <br />company pipe line to be constructed from Farmington, Minnesota to <br />Duluth, Minnesota. It was pointed out that the village probably <br />should take cognizance of the developments in White Bear and inves- <br />tigate them before making a final decision on granting a franchise <br />to the Northern States Power Company. After considerable discussion <br />the Council informally requested that the A~ayor appoint a committee <br />of two to cherk into the devebpments at White Bear and report back <br />to the Council at its February meeting. The Mayor promptly appointed <br />John Vitale and Edward Loeffler 1:o make this investigation and report;. <br />Such action having been taken, the matter of the gas franchise for <br />Northern States Power Company was continued until the February meet- <br />ing. <br />The hour of eight o~clock having arrived, the Mayor re- <br />verted the order of business to hearings that were set for that hour <br />The first hearing involved the petition to vacate a platted road <br />which had never been graded appearing on the plat. of Dawson~s Subur- <br />ban Acre Lots running in a Northwesterly and Southeasterly direction <br />and ltnown as Little Canada Road. Mr. Henry Schroeder of (1.10 E. <br />County Road "B" stated that he was present in order to express him« <br />self in favor of this vacation. No one appeared to oppose the vaca- <br />tion. <br />Upon motion by Nadeau, seconded by Loeffler, it was <br />"RESOLVED, That the Little Canada Road, un- <br />graded, which appeared in the plat of Dawson's <br />Suburban Acre Lots running Northwesterly and South« <br />easterly be and is hereby vacated and that. a copy <br />of this resolution be filed with the Register of <br />Deeds and such other county officials as the law <br />requires." <br />Ayes - 5 Nays - 0 <br />The resolution was adopted. <br />The next petition for hearing was a petition t.o vacate that <br />portion of Morrison Street North of Park Street and South of Little <br />Canada Road. The Clerk announced that notice of this hearing had <br />been published and posted as required by law and Mr. Dion appeared in <br />favor of the vacation. No persons appeared against it. <br />Upon motion by Spooner, seconded by Vitale, it was <br />"RESOLVED, That. Morrison Street: North of Park <br />Street and South of Little Canada Road be and is <br />hereby vacated and that a copy of this resolution <br />be filed with the Register of Deeds and such other <br />county officials as by law required." <br />Ayes - 5 Nays - 0 <br />The resolution was adopted. <br />- j - <br />
