Regular Meeting .- January L~., 1955 <br />Upon motion by Spooner, seconded by Vitale, it was <br />"RE;SOLVED, That the salary of the Village <br />Treasurer be and is hereby established at Twenty- <br />fi.ve Dollars 0625.00) per month, said rate to re- <br />main in force until future action of the Village <br />Council." <br />Ayes - 5 Nays - 0 <br />The resalution was adopted. <br />Upon motion by I.oe.ffler, seconded by Vitale, it was <br />"RESOLVED, That the salary of the Clerk be <br />continued at Fifty Dollars 0650.00) per month." <br />AYES - 5 Nays - 0 <br />The resolution was adopted. <br />Upon motion by Loeffler, seconded by Vitale, it was <br />"RESOLVE.1), That the clerk be and is hereby <br />authorized to employ clef°ical and secretarial <br />assistance and that. such secretary be paid Thirty <br />Dol.tars (~G30.00) per month." <br />Ayes - 5 Nays - O <br />The resolution was adopted. <br />Upon motion by Vitale, seconded by Loeffler, it was <br />"RESOLVED, That all money in the Drag Fund <br />be transferred to the Road and. Bridge Rund and <br />Chat the Drag Fund be discontinued since the law <br />does not provide a Drag Fund for villages." <br />Ayes - 5 Nays - 0 <br />The resolution was adopted. <br />Mr. Memmer informed the Council that the village can le- <br />gally enter a contract with a volunteer fire association for fire <br />protection within the village. He pointed out that this is estab- <br />lished by an attorney general's opinion which was rendered in March, <br />7.951- to the attorney for the Village of Bayport, Minnesota, where <br />that village employs the services of the Bayport Volunteer Fire As- <br />sociation. It will therefore riot be necessary to seek any special <br />legislation for this purpose. <br />Upon motion by Nadeau, seconded by Spooner, it was <br />"RESOLVED, "that the Village Council pay to <br />the Little Canada Fire Department the sum of Three <br />Thousand Dollars (~G3,000.00) for fire protection <br />7 _ <br />
