Regular meeting - February i, 1955 <br />The Clerk read a letter from S. Edward Ericson in which <br />Mr. Ericson thanked the Council very much for appointing him as- <br />sistant cler}t, but stated that he is not able to accept this ap- <br />pointment because of the press of other duties and the.ob.ligations <br />of his own business. The letter was received and placed on file. <br />The Clerk read a letter from Senator Westin stating that <br />he had introduced the Senate File of the bill authorizing the <br />county to sell road materials to the municipalities of the county. <br />This letter was received and placed on file. <br />Mr. Nadeau read a letter from Vincent O~Connor, attorney <br />at law, stating that the recent resolution of the Village whereby <br />the Village vacated a platted road (ungraded) known as Little Can- <br />ada Road, was not satisfactory to the 5t. Paul Abstract Company <br />and requesting that the Council again go through the formality of <br />vacating this particular road. Upon motion by Nadeau, seconded by <br />Spooner, it was <br />"RESOLVED, That the request of Mr. O~Connor to <br />vacate this road be favorably acted upon and that <br />the Council set as a date for a public hearing on <br />this subject the first Tuesday in March at 8:00 P.M." <br />Ayes - 4 Nays - 0 <br />The resolution was adopted. <br />1'~r. Memmer pointed out to the Council the necessity for <br />malting an amendment in the building rode to change the wording in <br />Section 5=20 of that code so that the words in that section will <br />be in conformity with Ordinance ~fi10, the ordinance setting build- <br />ing sites at one-half acre with 100 ft. frontage on a street. <br />Spooner moved to adopt <br />ORDINANC.r' #12 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SF,C'T'ION 5-20 OF ORDI- <br />NANCE #9 ENTITLED, "AN ORDINANCE EST.AALISH- <br />ING, AMPLIFYING AND REVISING THE 6UILDING <br />CODE: CREATING AND CONTINUING THE OFFICE OF <br />Bll'ILDING INSP EC'lOR: VALIDATING ALL PERMITS <br />IS5UL'D AND CONSTRUCTION AUTHORI7ED UNDER THE <br />CODE HERETOFORE.. EXISTING AND REPEALING RESOLU- <br />TIONS, ORDINANCES OR PARTS THEREOF TNC<a'V- <br />SISTEN'I HE1~F,VJITH." <br />Nadeau seconded the motion.. There being no further discussion, <br />the Mayor ordered the clerk to call the roll. The roll being called, <br />there were Ayes la_, and Nays 0, as follows: <br />Mayor L. W, Melancon Aye <br />R. P. Nadeau Aye <br />C. Spooner Aye <br />J. M. Vitale - Aye <br />So the Ordinance was adopted. <br />_3_ <br />
