OF THE; <br />VILLAGE' OF LITTLE CANADA <br />a~ ;t ;; ;, a; ,. <br />'T'he regular meeting of 1:he Council of the Village of I.it- <br />tie Canada was held at the Little Canada Fire Tlali on Tuesday, March <br />1, 1955 at r:30 P•M. The following Council mernbers were present; <br />Louis W, Melancon, Mayor; Roy P. Nadeau, Clerk; <br />Edward R. I,aeffler, C~ri Spooner, Trustees, <br />_~ <br />John Nt. Vitale, Trustee, `,t. Also present, were Fred P. Hem- <br />mer, Village Attorney, Usrar . L.ondi.n, 13ui1ding Inspector, and Mil- <br />ner W, Carley, Village Engineer. <br />The minutes of the regular meeting of February 1st were <br />approved as read. <br />Upon. motion by Loeffler, seconded by Melarzcon., it was <br />"RESOL,VED, That the Village Attorney be anal <br />is hereby instructed to draw a contract for fire <br />prct.ection for the Village engaging the services <br />of th.e Little Canada Fire Association for the <br />year 1955 for the total consideration of Three <br />Thousand Dollars ($y3,000.00)." <br />Ayes .- L~. Nays - 0 <br />The resolution was adopted. <br />At the request of Marcel Gagne, Fire Chief, the Village At- <br />torney was requested to study the taws with reference to the State <br />Firemen's Fund which consists of a 2~ tax on fire insurance premiums <br />and determine whether or not. the Little Canada Fire Department urouid <br />qualify for participation. in this state fund, <br />Mr. Milner Carley, Village Engineer, was present and pre- <br />sented a proposed plat. of property owned by Douglas li. Warden of 501 <br />E. Little Canada Road, Mr. Carley explained the proposal. Upon. mo- <br />tion b'y Nadeau, seconded by Loeffler, it was <br />"RESOLVED, That the Council concur in Mr, Carieyps <br />recommendation with refers-.nee to this proposed plat <br />and the plat be submitted at a later meeting in ac-• <br />cordance with these recommendations." <br />Ayes - ll_ Nays _ 0 <br />The resol~at:ion was adopted, <br />Mr„ Carley explained that a meeting of the various munici- <br />palities in Ramsey County was to be held at the Roseville, council <br />chambers on Friday evening, March 5, 1955, at 8;00 P.M., and that <br />
