<br />VILLAGE OF LITTLE CANADA
<br />The regular meeting of the Council of the Village of Lit-
<br />tle Canada was held at the Little Canada Fire Hall on Tuesday, May
<br />3, 1955 at '7:30 P>M> The following Council members were present:
<br />Louis 6V. Melancon, Mayors Roy P. Nadeau, Clerk;
<br />Edward R. Loeffler, Cart Spooner, John N1. Vita.te,
<br />Trustees.
<br />Also present were Walter Coeazen, Assistant Clerlc, L> Jespersen, Road
<br />1^oreman, Oscar Lorrdin, Building Inspector, Al Johnson, Electrical
<br />Inspector, E. W, Ehnstrom, 't'reasurer, and Fred P. Meminer, Village At-
<br />torney.
<br />The minutes of the meetings held in April were approved as
<br />read.
<br />Mr. M. Lyford, X31 Little Canada I?oad, stated to the Coun-
<br />cil that he would like to erect an outside roller rin.lc to be oper-
<br />ated during the summer months at the Northwest corner of Little Can-
<br />ada }?oad and Jackson Street< After he explained his project, a
<br />number of people present indicated their opposition to the proposal.
<br />Richard Boss, Jr., 93 Bryan A:ven.ue, Joe Fasciana, 28(31+ Jackson,
<br />Oliver Berthiaurne, 126 Little Canada Road, and Ernest Stadler, 101.1_
<br />Little Canada Road, all opposed the establishment of a roller rink
<br />as described by Lyford, Mr, Lyford then said that he would withdraw
<br />his request and drop the subject.
<br />IUr. B. `Lepp of il~ I,ittl.e Canada Road complained that the
<br />maintenance of a house trailer for living quarters at 2610 Parlt Street
<br />consi;itui.es a violation of the building code and trailer ordinance,
<br />lie asked that the Council take steps to require the removal o.f the
<br />trailer. Mr. A. C, Dickhut, owner of the trailer, claimed that he
<br />has been living theme for six years, drat no one has complained, and
<br />that the only reason for Zepp~s complaint is personal. Mr> C. Groom,

<br />Eugene Froehi.e, 67 VI. County Road C., all stated thaC they were
<br />friends of.' Mr, Dickhut and that they did not believe the trailer to
<br />be in any way objectionable. Inasmuch as the building code of the
<br />village prohibits the use of trailers for residences except in li-
<br />censed trailer parks, the question arose as to whether or not straps
<br />should be taken to enforce the code.
<br />Upon motion by Spooner, seconded by Nadeau, it was
<br />"R1SO1_.1/ED, that this matter be taken under
<br />advisement and that the Council make an. investiga-
<br />tion during the next sixty (60) days to determine
<br />a policy with c•eference to the problem of trailer
<br />residences,"
