MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF T]iE VILLAGE OF LITTLE CANADA ., ?; .. ., The regular meeting of the Council of the Village of Lit- tle Canada was held at the Little Canada Fire Hall on Tuesday, June 7, 1955 at 7:30 P.M. The following Council members were present: Louis W. Melancon, Mayor; Roy P. Nadeau, Clerk; Edward R. Loeffler, Carl Spooner, .}ohn M. Vitale, Trustees. Also present were Louis Jesperson, Road Foreman, Oscar F. Londin, Building Inspector, Richard Miilette, Health Officer, and Fred P. Memmer, Village Attorney. The, minutes of the May meeting were; approved as read. Mayor Melancon explained to the Council that he had been conferring with Kendall DeMars regarding the possibility of purchas- ing gravel for use on Viilage roads. He stated that the Road Fore- man and the Viilage Clerk had inspected the gravel pit and found the gravel to be satisfactory. The price quoted was less than half of what any available gravel is priced at by any other supplier. Upon motion by Spooner, seconded by Loeffler, it was "RESOLVEll, That necessary gravel for pit of Kendall DeMars yard or less." the Road Forc--man procure all Village roads from the gravel at the price of y$1.00 per Ayes - 5 'fhe resolution was adopted. Nays - 0 The Cier}t presented prices for road oiling from Ray Sina and he also presented a letter written by the County Engineer stating that the County would charge approximately .x$3,600.00 to oil ali of the six and one-half miles of Village streets. This price includes blading and sanding. The Clerk said that he had contacted several other potential suppliers and none of them cared to offer any price or make any bid on doing the wor}r for the Village. Upon motion by Loeffler, seconded by Spooner, it was °RESOLVED, That The Clerk be and 3.s hereby au- thorized to order road oiling to be done within the Viilage by the County Engineer." Ayes - 5 Nays - 0 The resolution was adopted.
