MINUTES OF THE MEETING <br />OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF T]iE <br />VILLAGE OF LITTLE CANADA <br />., ?; .. ., <br />The regular meeting of the Council of the Village of Lit- <br />tle Canada was held at the Little Canada Fire Hall on Tuesday, June <br />7, 1955 at 7:30 P.M. The following Council members were present: <br />Louis W. Melancon, Mayor; Roy P. Nadeau, Clerk; <br />Edward R. Loeffler, Carl Spooner, .}ohn M. Vitale, <br />Trustees. <br />Also present were Louis Jesperson, Road Foreman, Oscar F. Londin, <br />Building Inspector, Richard Miilette, Health Officer, and Fred P. <br />Memmer, Village Attorney. <br />The, minutes of the May meeting were; approved as read. <br />Mayor Melancon explained to the Council that he had been <br />conferring with Kendall DeMars regarding the possibility of purchas- <br />ing gravel for use on Viilage roads. He stated that the Road Fore- <br />man and the Viilage Clerk had inspected the gravel pit and found the <br />gravel to be satisfactory. The price quoted was less than half of <br />what any available gravel is priced at by any other supplier. <br />Upon motion by Spooner, seconded by Loeffler, it was <br />"RESOLVEll, That <br />necessary gravel for <br />pit of Kendall DeMars <br />yard or less." <br />the Road Forc--man procure all <br />Village roads from the gravel <br />at the price of y$1.00 per <br />Ayes - 5 <br />'fhe resolution was adopted. <br />Nays - 0 <br />The Cier}t presented prices for road oiling from Ray Sina <br />and he also presented a letter written by the County Engineer stating <br />that the County would charge approximately .x$3,600.00 to oil ali of <br />the six and one-half miles of Village streets. This price includes <br />blading and sanding. The Clerk said that he had contacted several <br />other potential suppliers and none of them cared to offer any price <br />or make any bid on doing the wor}r for the Village. <br />Upon motion by Loeffler, seconded by Spooner, it was <br />°RESOLVED, That The Clerk be and 3.s hereby au- <br />thorized to order road oiling to be done within the <br />Viilage by the County Engineer." <br />Ayes - 5 Nays - 0 <br />The resolution was adopted. <br />
