MINUTES OF THL' MEETING <br />OF THE VILLAGE GOUNCTL OF THE <br />VILLAGE OF LITTLE CANADA <br />:~ <br />The regular meeting of the Council o.f the Village of Lit» <br />tle Canada was 17e1d at the Little Canada Fire Ha11 on Tuesday, <br />August 2nd, 1955 at 7:30 Y.M. The following Council members were <br />present: <br />Louis VJ. Melancon, Mayor; Roy P. Nadeau, Clerk; <br />Edward R. Loeffler, Carl Spooner, John IJI. Vitale, <br />Trustees. <br />Minutes of the regular meeting of Juiy 5th and the special <br />meeting of J~zly 2£3th were approved as read. <br />Pursuant to a previous reso7a~ion of the Council the time <br />for hearing came on to consider rezoning of the property on the South <br />side of Little Canada Road between the Fire Hali and St. Johnts Ceme- <br />tery from Farm Residential to Commercial. The Mayor asked if any <br />persons were present who wished to be heard on the subject. No one <br />asked to he heard and there were no objections either written or oral. <br />The Clerk advised the Council that proper notices of hearing had been <br />posted pursuant to the provisions of the zoning ordinance. <br />Upon motion by Nadeau, seconded by Loeffler, it was <br />"RESOLVED, That the property described as: <br />Subject to Little Canada Road and the Water <br />Works easement and e;ccept the East 20 ft. of <br />the North 396 ft. and except the North 125 ft. <br />of the part West of the East 190 ft., all of <br />that part of the Northwest Quarter of the North» <br />west Quarter (NW4 of NW4) Easterly of the Water <br />Works easement in Section 8, Township 29, Range <br />2?_, according to the, Government Survey thereof; <br />be and is hereby rezoned from Farm Residential to Com» <br />mercial and the Clerk is instructed to send the proper <br />notices to the County Engineer and the County Auditor.." <br />Ayes 5 Nays 0 <br />The resolution was adopted. <br />Mr. Louis Johnson of LaBore Road in the Boss Addition asked <br />to be heard and stated that he had constructed a basement and was <br />about to move into it. Mr. Londin, Building Inspector, advised the <br />Council that when Mr. Johnson procured his buildhg permit he said no- <br />thing about living in his basement home and for that reason the build» <br />ing inspector has refused to approve or give his final okay to the <br />basement for use as a residence. Mr. Johnson was advised to procure a <br />petition signed by property owners within the Boss Addition stating <br />
