Regular A4eei,ing -- September h, 1955 <br />Upon motion by Spooner, seconded by Loeffler, it was <br />"RESOLVED, 'that Mr. Vernon Christensen of ''t. <br />Paul F'ark, be and is hereby appointed Electrical <br />Inspector for the Village of Little Canada." <br />Ayes - ~ Nays - 0 <br />'Phe resolution was adopted. <br />The Clerk. read an application from the Northwestern Bell Tele- <br />phone Company requesting permission to install underground cables which <br />will pass under Laurie Street between Desoto and McNienemy Road. <br />Upon friotion by Vitale, seconded by Spooner, it was <br />"RESOLVED, That permission be and is hereby <br />grant.eci to the Northwestern Bell Telephone. Company <br />to install underground cables pursuant to their <br />request." <br />Ayes - !; Nays - 0 <br />The resolution was adopted. <br />The Clerk announced that several requests ha.d been made .from <br />residents on Demont Road to set a speed limit on that road. <br />Upon motion by Nadeau, seconded by Spooner, it was <br />"RESOLVED, That the Clerk be and is hereby in- <br />strur.ted to forward a communication to the County <br />Board requesting that a speed limit be set on Demont <br />Road between Rice Street and McNlenemy Road.° <br />Ayes - 5 Nays - 0 <br />1'he resolution was adopted, <br />The Clerk advised the Council that at this time it is neces- <br />sary to forv/ard to the Cowlty Auditor the budget for 19y6. The Clerk <br />explaini:d to the Council that the Village finances were in good condi- <br />tion and that the Village at the present time had a cash balance of <br />$i>20,000.00 with very few outstanding bills. <br />iJpon motion by Spooner, seconded by Vitale, it was <br />"RE5O1.V'ED, That the budget for 1956 be set at <br />the figure of ~t8,500.00, tiZe same amount,as was es- <br />tablished for the budget.' last year." <br />Ayes - !~ Nays - 0 <br />The resolution was adopted. <br />The Clerk read a letter received from the E. J. Pennig Com- <br />pany quoting the price of blacl~top mat.eriai at 966,135 per t,on for a 35- <br />ton purchase less 5% "f paid within 30 days.
