Regular A4eei,ing -- September h, 1955 Upon motion by Spooner, seconded by Loeffler, it was "RESOLVED, 'that Mr. Vernon Christensen of ''t. Paul F'ark, be and is hereby appointed Electrical Inspector for the Village of Little Canada." Ayes - ~ Nays - 0 'Phe resolution was adopted. The Clerk. read an application from the Northwestern Bell Tele- phone Company requesting permission to install underground cables which will pass under Laurie Street between Desoto and McNienemy Road. Upon friotion by Vitale, seconded by Spooner, it was "RESOLVED, That permission be and is hereby grant.eci to the Northwestern Bell Telephone. Company to install underground cables pursuant to their request." Ayes - !; Nays - 0 The resolution was adopted. The Clerk announced that several requests ha.d been made .from residents on Demont Road to set a speed limit on that road. Upon motion by Nadeau, seconded by Spooner, it was "RESOLVED, That the Clerk be and is hereby in- strur.ted to forward a communication to the County Board requesting that a speed limit be set on Demont Road between Rice Street and McNlenemy Road.° Ayes - 5 Nays - 0 1'he resolution was adopted, The Clerk advised the Council that at this time it is neces- sary to forv/ard to the Cowlty Auditor the budget for 19y6. The Clerk explaini:d to the Council that the Village finances were in good condi- tion and that the Village at the present time had a cash balance of $i>20,000.00 with very few outstanding bills. iJpon motion by Spooner, seconded by Vitale, it was "RE5O1.V'ED, That the budget for 1956 be set at the figure of ~t8,500.00, tiZe same amount,as was es- tablished for the budget.' last year." Ayes - !~ Nays - 0 The resolution was adopted. The Clerk read a letter received from the E. J. Pennig Com- pany quoting the price of blacl~top mat.eriai at 966,135 per t,on for a 35- ton purchase less 5% "f paid within 30 days. '1' s letter was received and placed on file. ® 3 _
