1?egular Nteeting - September 6, 1355 <br />The Clerk read a letter from the Heating and Air Conditioning <br />Examination Board advising that 'the Board was prepared to give exami- <br />nations to appiicant.s for gas installers licenses. This letter was <br />recei~:i and placed on file. <br />The Clerk read a letter from Land Commissioner Norris Halvor- <br />son, asking council approval to reclassify lands in the Village as <br />"Nonr.onservational," The Village Attorney explained that it is possi- <br />ble for the local government to request that the sale of tax forfeited <br />land be withheld if the local. government reels it has use for such <br />land. 1^urther action on this subject was postponed until. the next <br />regular meeting. <br />Mr. George Kline, Village Gas Inspector, reported that ap- <br />proximately 120 homes in Little Canada have gas installations. <br />Mr. Londin, Building Snspector, reported that Terrace I-Ieights <br />Trailer Park has requested permif,s to install additional trailer spaces. <br />Mr. Londin was instructed to grant such a permit providing the owner <br />of the trailer park complies with the Village code and pays the fees <br />set forth in the Building Code. <br />Mr. PJiernmer stated that the Little Canada Fire Department de- <br />sires to purchase land adjoining the present Fire Hall in order to en-• <br />large the building. }j c, poiaYted out that the land upon wh.irrr the Fire <br />Hail now rests is ovrned by the Village having been transfered from the <br />Town to the Village follovring the incorporation of little Canada. He <br />further pointed out that the Fire De.part.ment wishes at this time t.o <br />purchase the necessary land and deed it to the Village without cost, <br />providing that the Village will enter a lease arrangement with the Fire <br />Department so as 'to settle the status of the maintenance of buildings <br />by the fire department.. <br />Upon motion by La.ffler, seconded by Nadeau, it was <br />"RESOL.VED, That the Village Attorney proceed to <br />make the proper legal arrangements anal agreements <br />and submit same to the Council at. a future, meeting <br />vrhen they are ready for action.": <br />Ayes - 5 Nays - 0 <br />•rhe resolution was adopted. <br />The Clerk stated that we are approaching the end of our first <br />two-year period as a village and that as of October 13th the state <br />law will permit the village to issue liquor licenses or establish a <br />municipal liquor store. He went on. to point out that inasmuch as this <br />subject has .been a rnatter of discussion among numerous citizens of the <br />Village, that a special meeting ought to be set up for the purpose of <br />hearing public citizens' views on this subject. A special meeting was <br />set for September 20th and the Clerk vras Chereupon instructed by the <br />Mayor to notify the public through the official village newspaper,°The <br />Rose Tribune", that such a special meeting will be held and the liquor <br />
