Schr-c~cr- had placed with tl7e <br />Viilaae to guarantee r,ompletion." <br />Aye - ~ id~rys - 0 <br />The resolution was adopted. <br />The Clerk read a Iei~ter from a village resident requesting <br />an arcliyht at Gervais Creek Road and Centerville Road. Mr. Jespersen, <br />Street Superintendent, reported that he had investigated flee Iccat4on <br />art it stated That there is no need fora light at this corner. Tf~e <br />Counci! toak no act ion and instructed the Cier4c to place the letter on <br />file. <br />The Clef°k read a petition from a group of young men in the <br />village requesting permission of i'he Council to conduct automobile; <br />races on Savage Lake durir',g the winter rnonih, while the lake is frozen. <br />The proposal offered by these; young men was to heave aui~c racing an <br />Sunday a'rternoon; during the winier~' season. The petition they presented <br />had been circulated among resident=. adjacent to the lake and had boson <br />signed by most of them, hh,r. Floyd Patten, 222 Little Canada Road, Baas <br />pr°c~serrt and explair.od hi; position with reference to racing cn the fake <br />sinr,e he is an owner of property abui~tiny the lake and actually owns <br />land to the center- of the lake. i-le said than he did not wish to op- <br />pose any reasonable proposition that these yauny men had, but that <br />>ince he owns property to the center of the lakey he wanted to be sure <br />that he would not be liable for any bodily injuries or' damages that <br />might occur as a result of ttrese races, tAr.
