Regular Meeting - February 12, 1958 <br />Upon motion by Spooner, seconded by Loeffler, 3t was <br />"RESOLVED, That the Building Inspector be and is hereby <br />authorized to issue a permit for the construction of a home on <br />the property described as <br />That part of the E~ of the NWl of the NWy, of Sec. <br />8, T. 2g, R. 22 lying East of the St, Paul Water <br />Works right-of-way except that portion thereof con- <br />veyed to the Village of Little Canada and excepting <br />St. John's Cemetery <br />providing said home is so located as to conform esthetically <br />with existing building on said property and providing further <br />that the owners of the property release the Village by proper <br />written instrument from any obligation to provide a street." <br />Ayes - 5 Nays - 0 <br />The resolution was adopted. <br />Mr. Memmer reported on the matter of the Coatell.o cottages at Lake Ger- <br />vais. Re read a letter he had written to Rarry Costello on December 26th and also <br />the reply received Prom Mr. Costello under date of January 29th. Both Mr. Memmer <br />and Mayor Melancon had talked with Mrs. Rarry Costello, Sr. who is the owner of <br />the property. She assured the Mayor and the Attorney that she would have these <br />buildings removed before the snow is gone this spring. <br />Upon emotion by Nadeau, seconded by Loeffler, it was <br />"RESOLVED, That the Village Attorney be and is hereby <br />instructed to notify Mrs. Rarry Costello, Sr. that the <br />dilapidated cot~iagea on her property are to be removed on <br />or before April 1, 1858 and iP they are not removed by that <br />date, the Village will commence condemnation proceedings, re- <br />move the buildings, and charge the expenses thereof to the <br />property owner to be paid as and with her taxes." <br />Ayes - 5 Nays - 0 <br />The resolution was adopted. <br />The Chief of Police, Myers ~'rattalone, informed the Council that he had <br />asked Leonard Runestrand to surrender the badge and a book of street tickets and <br />that Runestrand told him that he was a Village Police Officer and could not be <br />discharged without a hearing. The Attorney was instructed to send a letter to Mr, <br />Runeatrand advising him of the fact that his appointment was for a year at a time <br />and that he had not been re-appointed so that he is not now an officer for the <br />Village. <br />The Clerk read Voucher Nos. 1018 through 1041, inclusive. Upon :motion <br />by Vitale, seconded by Loeffler, it was <br />"RESOLVED, That Voucher Noa. 1018 through 1041, inclusive, <br />be and are hereby approved for payment as follows: <br />-4- <br />
