Regular Meeting - February 12, 1958 <br />The Clerk read a letter from Mr. Rerrnit Redman, Deputy Sheriff, which <br />set forth the fees that will be charged by the County for radio service through <br />the sheriff's po°11ce radio system for the Village Fire Department. This matter <br />was referred to the Little Canada Fire Department. <br />The Clerk read a letter received from Peter Popovich, Chairman of the <br />Minnesota Centennial Commission, requesting the Village to adopt a resolution com- <br />memorating the centennial year. <br />Upon motion by Spooner, seconded by Vitale, it was <br />"RESOLVED, That the Village of Little Canada concur and <br />adopt the resolution recommended by the Minnesota Centennial <br />Commission." <br />Ayes - 5 Nays - 0 <br />The resolution was adopted. <br />Nr. Memmer, Attorney, presented a letter from the Ramsey County Land <br />Commissioner requesting that the Village adopt a resolution declaring tax forfeited <br />land consisting of Lots 6 through 11 in Block 10 of North Heights as non-conservation <br />land. <br />Upon motion by Vitale, seconded by Loeffler, the following resolution was <br />unanimously adopted: <br />"WHEREAS, The Board of County Commissioners of Ramsey County <br />by resolution dated September 9, 1957, classified as non-conservation <br />land certain parcels of land lying within the Village of Little <br />Canada; and <br />"WHEREAS, A certified copy of the classification resolution to- <br />gether with a list of the lands classified has been submitted for <br />approval of the classification and sale of the land classified in <br />accordance with MSA, Section 282.01, Subdivision 1; <br />"NOW, THERF~'ORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the classification of <br />the land shown on said list as nonconservation land and the sale <br />thereof be and hereby is approved; and <br />"BE IT FURTAER RESOLVED, That the Village Clerk be and hereby <br />is directed to file a certified copy of this resolution in the <br />Office of the County Auditor." <br />Ayes --5 Nays - 0 <br />The resolution was adopted. <br />Mr. Londin, Building Inspector, appeared before the Council and stated <br />that Mrs. Dorothy Martindale 3a seeking to build a $15,000.00 home on the property <br />known as the Mary Farm which lies between the Fire Hall and St, John's Cemetery <br />extending Southward from Little Canada Road and containing approximately seven <br />acres. Since this house wouJ.d not be facing a street but would be back on this pro- <br />perty close to the house presently existing on the property, the Building Inspector <br />felt that it required Council approval for him to issue a building permit. <br />-3- <br />
