MINHTES OF THE MEETING
OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE
VILLAGE OF LITTLE CANADA
* ~ ~
The regular meeting of the Council of the Village of Little Canada was
held at the Little Canada Fire Hall on Wednesday, May 14, 1958, at ?:30 P.M. The
following Council members were present:
Louis W. Melancon, Mayor; Roy P. Nadeau, Clerk;
Edward Loeffler, Carl Spooner, John M. Vitale,
Trustees.
Also present were Fred P. Memmer, Village Attorney; Walter Coenen, Treasurer; Oscar
F. Londin, Building Inspector; and Louis Jespersen, Street Superintendent.
The Minutes of the regular meeting of April 9th were approved as read.
Mr. Raymond Savageau of 47 Viking Drive appeared before the Council to
discuss the possibility of dividing his property into two separate building sites.
His proposal would result in two lots, each of which would be 69 ft. wide and 297
ft. long. The Council advised him that they had no alternative but to refuse per-
mission for such a division since there are seven other lots in the same tract,
the owners of which would undoubtedly ask for the same privilege.
Mr. T. L. Fast oP 99 North Owasso Boulevard appeared before the Council
and inquired to know why his request of about a year ago to have his property in-
cluded in the Village of Little Canada had not been acted upon. After some discus-
sion, it was suggested that the Clerk write a letter to the Village of Vadnais
Heights explaining what had happened and requesting that Vadnais Heights join with
Little Canada in permitting Mr. Fast to annex his property to Little Canada. The
Council agreed informally that this should be done and so instructed the Clerk.
Mrs. Anthony Gruber of McMenemy Road and County Road B. appeared before
the Council and renewed her request to divide her property into two building sites
so that she could build a house on the north end of her property which would face
McMenemy Road. The Village Attorney pointed out that owners of tracts to the north
of the Gruber property had purchased from Oscar Lee, who was the same person from
whom Mrs. Gruber bought her tract. Yt was further pointed out that the tracts to
the North had been sold with the understanding that each tract would be used as an
indivldual homesite. When Lee sold to Grubers, it was the remainder of his proper-
ty and he did not include any deed restriction as to use.
Upon motion by Nadeau, seconded by Vitale, it was
"RESOLVED, That the Clerk be and is hereby instructed to
write to the other owners along the West side of McMenemy Road
between County Road B. and Highway #36 advising them of Mrs.
Gruber's request and notifying them that they should indicate
whether or not the o "
y ppose the division of the Gruber property.
Ayes - 5 Nays - 0
The resolution was adapted.
