MINUTES OF THE MEETING <br />OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF TItE <br />'VILLAGE OF Ll'TTLE CANADA <br />+k ~ ~# <br />The regular meeting of the Council of the Village of Little Canada was <br />held at the Little Canada Fire Hall on tvednesday, June ll, 1958, at 7:30 P.M, The <br />following Council members were presents <br />Louis w, Melaneon, Mayor; Roy P. Nadeau, Clerk; <br />Edward Loeffler, Carl Spooner, John M. Vitale, <br />Trustees, <br />Also present were Louis Jespersen, Street: Superintendent; Oscar F. Londin, Building <br />Inspector; Fred P. Memmer, 'Village Attorney; and tValter Coenen, Troasurer> <br />The minutes of the regular meeting of May 14th were approved as read. <br />The Clerk read a petition for vacating Eighth Stz•eet along the North <br />edge of Rice Street Motor Line Addition from Rice Street to the water works right- <br />of-way. This is a platted, undeveloped street which would be rendered impossible <br />of construction or use when the new highway is built:. 1'Ize Mayor called for al.l per- <br />sans interesi;ed to come forward either fo.r or against this proposal. There were no <br />ob,~ections at this time to the vacatioaz. <br />upon mot:i.on by Nadeau, seconded by Loeffler, i. f. was <br />"RESOLVEB, 'that the petition of Ri.cha.rd Jacobsen, Mary Jacobsen and <br />Rornolo P~4orri, having been duly received in proper form and notice of hearing having <br />been duly posited and published. for two suecessi.va: weetcs in the official village new- <br />paper arcordi.ng to law for hearing on June 11, 1.958, and since it is for the best <br />int:oreat of the public of the Village of Little Canada, the following deseri.bed <br />platted street is Paereby vacated: <br />"AI1 of Eighth ^atreet in Rice Street; Motor Line Addi.t.i.on <br />from Rice Street eastward to the ,f,. Paul Piatez•works right- <br />of-way." <br />Ayes - 5 Nays - 0 <br />'Tlae resolution was adopted, <br />John Vi.f.ale, Counoil member, asked the Council to consider the enactment <br />of a. stricter dog ordinance, He cl.ai.med he had lost $63,00 worth of trees and flov,~ers, <br />After considerable discnssi.an i.t was decided to naa.ke no change :kn the dog ordinance. <br />Mrs, Gruber, ownex° of. the property on the Northwest oox•ner of County idoad <br />H. and ATcMenemy again renewed hair request fox the privilege of dividing her lot into <br />two bui.ldizag sites and tcz obtain a bxailding permit, fox• the North half of her property, <br />The Clerk expl.ai.ned thmt letters had been sent out to all ad,joi.ning and nearby pro- <br />perty owners who had purchased from the same grantor, One of the property ownex•s had <br />also provided a photostatic copy of the use restri.etions contained in the deed which <br />were filed by R4x•, Oscar Lee, the forme x• owner, in 1952. The Clerk also informed the <br />Council that all people wkzo had replied to letters written by him indicated that they <br />were opposed in principal to the idea of dividing these lots between County Road B, and <br />
