Regular Meeting - February 11, 1959 <br />Upax motion by Spooner, seconded by Vitale, it was <br />"RESOLVED, That the Village Engineer be and is Ixeeeby <br />instructed to make a repox•t to the Council of the probable <br />cost of re-grading Flower Street fx•om Rice Street to the <br />line of Sylvan Street, and that all such information be <br />presented to the Council at the next Regular Meeting." <br />Ayes - 4 Nays - 0 <br />The resolution was adopted, <br />Upon motion by Vitale, seconded by Coenen, it was <br />"RESOLVED, That the Village Engineer be and is hereby <br />instructed to prepare ahd report a probable cost estimate <br />of constructing drainage works on Third Street from a <br />point East of McMenemy Road to McMenemy Road, and thence <br />to the right-of-way of Highway #36.° <br />Ayes - 4 Nays - 0 <br />'Phe resolution was adopted. <br />The Clerk read a letter received from the County concerning a hearing <br />to be held by the Couttty Board on March 2, 1959, to consider a request of the State <br />Highway Department to alter County Dx°ainage Ditches No. 7 and 16. Mayox• Melancon <br />indicated that he would anent this meeting, <br />The Clerk read a letter from the Mayor of No. St. Paul, concerning a <br />proposal to have Uniform Curfew Laws among all the municipalities o3' Ramsey County. <br />In this letter.it was specifically requested that Little Canada name a person to <br />act on the Commiiaee which will draft the Uniform Curfew Law. Mayor Melancon <br />volunteered to serve on this Committee. <br />The Clerk read a letter from the County Board advising that the <br />County had introduced legi$lation to permit municipalities to buy materlalssfrom the <br />County Engineex•s Division, This letter indicated that tho matter would be heard by <br />a Legislative Committoe at the State Capitol on Friday, Februaxy 13, 1959 at 1 o'clock <br />P,M. It was agreed that Mr, Memmer should attend this meeting and represent the <br />Village of Little Canada. <br />Tlxe Village Attorney road a letter from the Railroad and Warehouse <br />Commission stating that the Commission had ordered the Soo Line Railroad Company to <br />install electric warning signals at tlxe Soo Line grade crossing on Little Canada Road <br />between Jackson and Rice Streots, The Attorney explained tixat the Railroad still <br />had an opportunity to oppose tixi.s order, altlxough he indicated that it is certainly <br />not at all likely that the Railroad and iYarehoixse Commission would in any way change <br />the order, <br />.Upon motion by Vitale, seconded by Spooner, it was <br />"RESOLVED, That Vouchers Nos, 1345 through 1365, inclusive, <br />be and are hereby approved for payment as follows: <br />"No. 1'345 John E.
