Meeting - Max•ch 11, 1959 <br />Mx•. 1\4emmer, Village Attorney, ;;•ave a short talk to the Council re- <br />garding i;he necessity for establishing an Advisory Planning Commission in the <br />Vi7.lage, and he also emphasized the need for taking steps to enforce State and Village <br />'laws relating to sanitary sewage disposa7.. Tie recommended that the Village Health <br />Board undertake promptly to inspect the erri:ix•e Village and determine the location <br />o:f a17. inadequate sani.ta.ry sewage disposal laci.lit.es, particularly those which are <br />being pumped or allowed tv T1wv above ground on the owner's property, the private <br />property oi' others, or on public property. <br />The Clex•k WA5 instructed i;o noti.:fy Mr. Bougie and Mr. Milleiae, <br />members oP the Village Board of Health to appear at the V7.llag~e Meeting orli March <br />5, 1959, and report all. sanitary sewer violations that they know o:t' in the Village. <br />The C1ex•1: read a letter from the St. Paul Postmaster, requesting that <br />the Village cooperate with the post office department 'to eliminate street names <br />which duplicate the names vl other street,, or which are so similar as to cause <br />confusion. The Postmaster set up a system of recommended rues :tor keeping the <br />post o,'fi.ce depart;rnent advised currently of street name ehanges, or the estab7.i.sh- <br />ment of new streets, '!'his leti;er was placed on .i.'i1e with instructions to the C,lerlc <br />to follow the rules recommended by the Postmaster. <br />'.Che Clerk read a letter from the County lsng~ineer's Office reporting <br />County activities relative to safety during t:he year 19:18.
