MINUTES OF THE REGULAR ML+'ETING <br />OF THE VILT.AGE COUTvrCIL OF THE <br />VILLAGE OF LITTLE CANADA <br />~ x' <br />The regular meeting of the Cowxcil of. tlxe Village of Little Canada, <br />was held at the Little Canada Fire Hall on Wednesday, December 9, 1959 at 7:30 p.m. <br />The following Council hfembers were present: <br />Louis W. Melancon, Mayor; Walter F. Coenen, Clerk; <br />Carl Spooner, Edward R, Loeffler, and John M. Vitale, <br />Trustees. <br />Also present were Frederick P, Memmer, Village Attorney, Louis G. Jes- <br />persen, Road Supervisor, Oscar Londin, Building Inspector, and Richard Boss, Village <br />Treasurer. <br />The minutes of the regular meeting of November 11, were approved as <br />x•ead, <br />Johm M. Vitale, Trustee, pointed out that some of: the people engaged <br />in truck farming in the area where Interstate Highway #35 is being constructed have <br />been forced to move and are now engaged in farming in an area Tong Vanderbie Road. <br />Iie pointed out that there may be a conflict about zoning. After some discussion, <br />the matter was tabled for future consideration< <br />Mr, Donald Sether of 2184 Arkwright, presented a petition on behalf <br />of himself and about 45 other home owners in the area, requesting that they be <br />given an opportunity to have Sanitary sewer installed in their area which ~s adjacent <br />to that part of Maplewood where sanitary sewers will be constructed in 1960. FIe <br />asked if the Council had checked into this matter. The Mayor then requested Mr.. <br />Memmer, Attorney for the Village, to read a letter received from Bettenburg, Townsend, <br />Stolte and Comb, consulting engineers. Mr. Memmer read the letter, the main pua•pose <br />of which was to advise the Council that the above named fS.rm of engineers would make <br />a preliminary study of the area bounded by Highway #3G, Edgerton St., County Rd. B, <br />and McMenemy Rd., at a cost to the Village of $400,00, and that this survey would <br />reveal what problems, if any, existed in connecting that area to the Maplewood Sewer <br />System, and what the estimated cost would be for property owners in the area. <br />Upon motion by Vitale, seconded by Spooner, i.t was <br />"RESOLVED, that the firm of Bettenburg, Townsend, Stolte <br />and Comb, be hired by the Village of Little Canada for the <br />purpose of making a preliminary survey for sanitary sewers in <br />that portion of the Village South of Highway #36 and East of Mc- <br />Aienemy 1&?.d. for the agreed :Pee of $400.00." <br />Ayes - 5 Nays - 0 <br />The resolution was adopted, <br />Mr. Don Carley, Village Engineer, stated that it would be necessary for <br />a Street Agreement to be drawn up for the street construction in tlxe new Blomquist <br />Addition, and that the amount of Bond to be posted is $5,800.00 and the cash deposit <br />for engineer9.ng fees is to be $388.00. The Village Attorney was instructed to pre- <br />pare the necessary papers, <br />
