Regular Meeting - Decemt 9, 1959
<br />Mr. Carley, then presented to the Council, an estimate f.or work done
<br />up to date on the County Rd. B improvement, totalling• $6,903.05, of which $3,980.00
<br />was paid by the Village last month, leaving a remaining balance to be paid in the
<br />amount of $2,943.05. Fie explained that this work is not yet complete and that the
<br />bituminous base will have to be constructed in the Spring.
<br />Upon motion by Vitale, seconded by Loeffler, it Wass
<br />"RESOLVED, that the sum of $2,943.05 be l~~aid to Ray Sina,
<br />Contractor."

<br />The resolution was adopted.
<br />Mr, Memmer presented the resolution requested by the Board of County
<br />Commissioners, canceling a pori:ion of McMememy Road, as a County State Aid !toad.
<br />Th1s requires action by the Village, but the resolution does not mean that the County
<br />will cease maintaining McMenemy Road.
<br />Upon motion by Spooner, seconded by Loeffler, it was
<br />"RESOLVED, that the Ramsey County Board of Commi.ssioner.s'
<br />Resolui:ion No. 9-5259, providing by i.ts terms that that part of
<br />AicMenemy Street being County State Aid Highway No. 57, commencing
<br />at the intersection of County Road B, and terminating at or
<br />near the Northwest corner at Section. S, Tawn 29, Range 22, be
<br />revoked, is hereby approved by the Village Council of the
<br />Village of Tittle Canada."

<br />The resolution was adopted.
<br />Upon motion by Vitale, seconded by Coenen, it was
<br />"RESOTVk;17, that the application of Oeorge Hammond, proprietor
<br />of the Rice Bozkl Bowling Lanes be and is hereby granted a lic-
<br />ense for the sale of 3,2 Beer, both on-sale and off-sale, and a
<br />license fox the sale of cigarets, and that the Clork issue Bald
<br />7.icenses upon receipt of the proper license fee."

<br />The Clerk presented a preliminary plan for improvement of Hi.ghwvay r~3G
<br />from Rice Street, eastward to llig~lxway ~G1, a substantial portion of whi.clx is in Tittle
<br />Canada. The plans were referrod to i~h•. Carley, Village Engineer, with instructions
<br />to study same and advise the Counci]. as to all matters pertai.ni.ng tp traffic movement
<br />drainage, storm water removal, etc,., at the next reg~r meoi:ing of the Village
<br />Council in January, and also that the Clerlc advise the Highway Department District
<br />Engineer, Mr. McCubrey that these plans will be considered at the meeting of tho
<br />Council on January 13, 19G0.
