REGULAti MEPs'1'ING OF' `1'HE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF' LI'1''.PLE CANADA - n4AY 11~ 1g60. <br />'Phe meeting was called. to order by Mayor Melancon at x:30 P. M. Present <br />were: Mayor Melancon, W. Coenen, J. Vitale, Ed Loeffler, Carl Spooner. <br />Fred Ivtemmer. <br />Also present were: Richard :Boss, Oscar Londin, Louis Jesperson and <br />`1'he minutes of the meeting o£ April 13, 1860, tirere read and approved. <br />`Pony Schriber of County Road "C" appeared bei'ore the Council and claimed <br />that water from i3luwood Avenue property runs on to his property. The Road Superinten- <br />dent, Ivlr. Jesperson., was instructed to check the culverts and see if there is a <br />culvert block, which appears to be the .reason for this water., and he is to immediately <br />get it open. <br />Mr. Charles Hrou.-let of 366 Eli Road claimed that Eli. Road is i.n bad <br />condition and indicated that whenever the road is graded each year, the oiling i.s <br />delayed for severa]. vreeks so that the road is again full of chuckholes before oiling <br />takes place. <br />Upon motion by Vitale, seconded by Spooner, it was <br />RESOLVED, That the County of Ramsey be instructed to grade Eli Road <br />and oil it immediately after grading. <br />Ayes - 5 Nays - 0 <br />George Hei.nal of 300'] Vanderbie Road asked the Council if it is legal <br />for 'the public to use an easement which was apparently created for private use. <br />Pursuant to direction of the Council, the Village Attorney was instructed to check <br />the easement and determine whether or not there vrere any rights gran bed 'to the public <br />by ii;s teams. <br />Carl :ipooner asked the Clerk to forward a letter to the City Water <br />Department of St. Paul asking for permission to install a vrater hydrant on the new <br />pipeline being constructed through Little Canada, which could be used £or fire <br />protection. <br />The Clerk read a Petition received frmm Glen Nelson of 2']50 Rice Street <br />vrho operates a so-called. dairy store i.n the building formerly ovmed by Louis .Peter£eso <br />for a license to sell 3.2 beer of.E'sa.le. The Cleric was instructed to submit an applica- <br />tion to Iuir.. Nelson and also to order an investigation by the Police Chief and Fire <br />Chief. <br />The Clerk read a letter from the County Engineer ralli.ng the Council's <br />attention to the master street plan for Ramsey County which requires certain setl:>acks. <br />It appeared from the map submitted with the letter that eventua].1y Rice Street, <br />Edgerton Street, and County Road "]3" would all be developed to an 86 £t. right of way <br />so that hereafter all buildings constructed on these streets should be set back at <br />least 73 .feet from the center line of the existing street. 73o so doing• now, i.t would <br />
