This <br />letter. was received and placed on file. <br />Trustee Spooner pointed. out that the construction work of a new water <br />pipe line .for the St. Paul City Water Department is resulting in street damage <br />by reason of the heavy equipment traveling over some of the Villas streets. <br />The Mayor pointed out that he has discussed this vrith the contractor and that <br />he believes that he can arranges with the aont.ractor to f9.11 the deep water hole <br />at the intersection of Centerville Hoad and Racine Place and that the contractor <br />is also required, under the terms o£ his contract, to :restore the roads to the <br />condition i.n which they were before the work started. Mr. Joseph Vitale, <br />proprietor of the Venetian lnn, stated to the Council that he felt sorne effort <br />should be made to provide sewer service along Riae Street since the lank of such <br />service tends to reduce property values. He explained that his own property <br />sufferred a substantial reduction in loan value due to the lack of sewer service. <br />The Clerk read a proposed. ordinance to govern the licensing of persons <br />desiring to raise pigs within the Village of Little Canada. Mr. Loren Gar.ske, <br />who was present, indicated that he opposed such procedure on the grounds that <br />he felt th@ ordinance was directed at him. He told the Council that he wouad <br />be getting rid of all o.f his pigs vrithin two months and he felt that other people <br />who wan bed to raise two or three pigs should not be confronted with a license <br />simpl.,y because of his own situation. <br />t_ <br />r~ `~ . ~, <br />
