Ingham, 358 `third Avenue, requesting the Council to appoint him Justice of Peace for. the remaindex• of the ter. m. The Mri,yor. explained that the Council would prefer not to make an appo:i.nt- ment at this time si.n.ce it would mean obtaining a new bond anal other expenses for a period of on.1,y tvro months and that 'the Council would prei•er• to have this vacancy fil.l.ed by election. The Cleric reported that he h.ad received a bill in the amount of ;y25.00 for weed cutting on the Jesse Kelly property at 3085 kldgerbon. Upon motion by Spooner, seconded by Loeffler, i.t was RLSOI,VED, that the property of Jesse Kelly, located at 3085 Edgerton Street he, and. is hereby, assessed the sum of X25.00 for vreed cutting, said property being legally described as followsa Subject to Edgerton Street, the South 17.0 ft, of the IJorth 454.41 feet of the East 400 ft of the West half of Section 5, 1'. 29, ~. 22, according to the C7. S. Government survey thereof on file and of record i.n the office of the Register. of Deeds in and for Ramsey County, -- and that this assessment be forwarded t;o bhe County Auditor. to be co7.].ected. as taxes in the ,year. 1961, the amount of said assessment being X25.00 without any additional cost or penalties; and, the Clerk is he.reb;y d:irecbed. to S'orward a certified copy o.f this 13esolution to the County .f~udi.tor for the purpose of having this assessment spread on t;he auditors record against the land herein- be.fore described. Ayes - 5 Nays - 0 'the Clerk read a l.ettes• from the County Auditor in reference to taxes and 'the budget for the coming year. Inasmuch as the people i.n the area south of IIi.ghway 35 had petitioned to detach, it was decided to wait until the October meeting to set the amount to be levied for taxes since this change in area and population may affect both the valuation and also the amount of money needed for Village purposes.
