MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF TINE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF TIIE <br />VILLAGE OF LTTTLE CANADA <br /> <br />The regular meeting o£ the Council of the Village of Little Canadas was <br />held at the Little Canada Fire Halls 440 E, Little Canada Roads on June 14s 1961 <br />at 7s30 P.D4. The following Council members were presents <br />Louis W. Melancons Mayor; Walter Eo Coenens Clerk; Edward Loefflers <br />John M. Vitales and Carl Spooners Trustees. <br />Also present weres Richard Bosse Treasurer; Louis Jespersons Road <br />Supervisor; Osoar Londins Building Inspector. <br />Upon motion by Vitales seconded by Loefflers it was <br />"RESOLVEDs that the minutes of the regular meeting of May 70 <br />be approved as reads" <br />P,Yes-5 Nays-0 <br />The resolution was adoptedo <br />A2r. Warren Burtons 306 Forrest Stos Sto Pau1s appeared before the Council <br />and stated that he was negotiating to purchase property at 2650 Rioe Street in Little <br />Canada which is presently owned by Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Houle. He asked the Council <br />if this property was zoned Commercial and he explained that he would establish on the <br />property a drive-in eating place which he hoped he might some day build up to be <br />similar to Nelsons Drive-In on Arcade Street and Wheelock Parkway in St. Paul. Mr. <br />Burton was advised by the Council to investigate in the office of the County Engineer <br />to determine whether or not the property had ever been zoned Commercial and that he <br />should also present architects plans to the Little Canada Council for reference to <br />the Planning Commission. <br />Mr. Chester and Mr. Co Helgeaons both residents of Savage Lanes asked what <br />action was to be taken for the repair of their street. They were advised that this <br />matter is being estimated now by the County Engineers office and will very likely be <br />authorized within the next couple of weeks. <br />Mr, Victor Gordon of Little Canada Roads made some inquiries about zoning <br />and explained that the Soo Line Railway might wish to buy his land if they can use it <br />for the construotion of a freight dock and possibly a warehouse, Iie was advised to <br />have the Railroad to present its proposal to the Councilo <br />Upon motion by Vitales seconded by Loefflers it was <br />"RESOLVEDs The Road Supervisor was ordered to repair the black- <br />top apron in front of the Village Fire Hall and perform such <br />necessary treatment as required to provide proper maintenanceo" <br />Ayes - 5 Nays - 0 <br />The resolution was adopted. <br />
