MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />MARCH 11, 2020 <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Montour. <br />Ayes (5). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />ALLEN AVENUE IMP. <br />The City Engineer explained that Allen Avenue between Centerville Road <br />PROJECT 2020-01 <br />and Edgerton Street is in very rough shape and was approved for a full- <br />PLANS/SPECS & <br />depth reclamation, inspect and repair water main, storm and sanitary sewer <br />AUTHORIZE <br />fittings and connections as needed, and install a new sidewalk on the south <br />ADVERTISING FOR <br />side of Allen between Centerville Road and Desoto Street. He noted that <br />BIDS <br />the islands in the middle of the street at either end of the Pitrina Park area <br />will be removed and the monuments in the islands will be relocated. He <br />stated that he has been talking to the company that made the monuments <br />and is hopeful that they can moved and the cost will not be too high. He <br />stated that he has met with the Pitrina Park Board to review the proposed <br />design and project details. He explained that the construction will take two <br />to three months, and the contract allows for flexibility on the start date, but <br />once the contractor starts the work, they must continue until it is complete. <br />He noted that the assessment hearing will be held in October. <br />The City Engineer reported that that construction costs he has seen for <br />other projects have been coining in high, so he wants the Council to be <br />aware of that. He explained that they have submitted a grant application to <br />Ramsey County for the sidewalk construction, and a decision should be <br />made by the County Board in May. <br />Montour introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOL UTION NO. 2020-3-35 — APPROVE THE PLANS AND <br />SPECIFICATIONS AND ORDER THE ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS <br />FOR THE ALLENA VENUE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT 2020-01 <br />(FROM CENTERVILLE ROAD TO EDGERTONSTREET) <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Keis. <br />Ayes (5). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />UPDATE ON COVID 19 McGraw asked if the City has available information for the residents about <br />the COVID 19 virus. The Parks & Rec/Community Services Manager <br />explained that staff attended a Ramsey County emergency management <br />meeting today and this is something that will be change daily. He stated <br />that information will be posted on the city website. <br />4 <br />
