Dfin. Reg. Meeting <br />December. 18, 1972 <br />Mr. W. Schultz <br />243 De Mont. <br />( Tree Damage) <br />SIGNS <br />Mx. Thiessen <br />At the regular meeting of Nov. 20, 1972, the claim of Dir. <br />W. Schultz, of 243 E. De Mont was tabbed until the claim be <br />investigated further. <br />The clerk reported that,it was the opinion of the Engineers <br />that the village is not obligated to honor the claim since the <br />tree was on a road-right-o£-way. <br />It was the opinion of Mr. Rudy, that the Village should <br />honor the claim, because Mx. Schultz has done a favor to the <br />Village, by saving the txee. <br />Mr. De Bace stated that he would like to ckeck the matter <br />further. No action was taken on the claim, so the matter remains <br />tabled. <br />At the Dec. 6th meeting, the request of Mr. Thiessen to <br />install two signs, one for the Northern Mower Co. (a permanent <br />sign) and the other for Owesso Shores Apt.(a temporary sign) was <br />tabled. <br />Mr. De Bace stated that he has check the location and <br />discussed the matter cuith the owner of the lot. In his remarks <br />Mr. De Bace recommended to the council that approval should be <br />given, although, the signs are for business in Shoreview. For <br />some day, business places in Little Canada may be requesting <br />signs in shoreview. <br />Mr. Rudy, remarked, that the proposed signs should be <br />placed on the East side of Rice St, as far South as possible <br />from North Owesseo Blvd. <br />Upon the motion of Mr. De Bace and seconded <br />by Dir. Rudy, it was resolved that: <br />Permission is hexeby given to Mr. Thiessen <br />to errect, two signs, one memporaffiq sign Eor the Owessea <br />Shores Apt, the other sign a permanent sign for the Northern <br />Mower Co. to be placed on a parcel of land located on the <br />SE, coxnor of Rice and North Owesseo, upon the following <br />conditions: <br />1. The proposed signs be placed as far South as possible <br />froai:;'No.:' cOwaaao Blvd. <br />2. The owner of the signs agrees to rem ove the signs <br />when requesed by the village to do so. <br />3. The building inspector, is insturcted to check the <br />location of the signs. <br />Ayes: Diessrs: De Bace, Rudy Chlebeck and Anderson <br />Nayes 0 : Resolution adopted. <br />page 3 , During the discussion it was pointed out, that <br />the property in question may have some debris on them and the area <br />has many direction signs. <br />
