MINUTES <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />NOVEMBER 14, 2019 <br /> <br /> - 2 - <br /> <br /> The City Clerk stated the 2020 meeting schedule for the Planning <br />Commission is proposed to be the regular second Thursday of each month at <br />6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Westadt moved to approve the 2020 Planning Commission meeting schedule <br />as presented. <br /> <br />Motion seconded by Buesing. <br />Motion carried 6 – 0. <br /> <br /> <br /> The Community Development Director/Planner reported that some responses <br />from the adjacent cities and other groups about the Comprehensive Plan have <br />been received and there have not been any comments made yet. She <br />reviewed the process that the Metropolitan Council uses to review each plan <br />and the timing. She noted that there is tracking information available so <br />cities can see where the Met Council staff is in their review process. She <br />stated that the April Planning Commission meeting will be an in-depth <br />review of the draft Comprehensive Plan with the consultant Bill Weber, and <br />the City Council will also be invited to attend. <br /> <br /> Don Heinel, 3007 Vanderbie Street, stated that he owns 17 acres of vacant <br />land that is for sale, so he wants to make sure that the Comprehensive Plan <br />still designates flexibility in the land uses for his property. Schwalbach <br />stated that the Commission had discussed this area and is open to mixed uses. <br />The City Clerk stated that Mr. Heinel’s property is adjacent to residential and <br />light industrial uses, and fronts County Road D, so there are different options <br />for the redevelopment.
