MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
AUGUST 27, 2008
numbers of vehicles, h•affic, and parking would be another tool that would
help landlords manage the numbers of people occupying rental housing.
Keis stated that he was not in favor of dictating how many cars someone
can have. He noted that families with teenagers may have a large number
of cars.
Blesener indicated that he was not ready to adopt the proposed Zoning and
Subdivision Code. He also noted the memo from the Code Enforcement
Officer related to the parking of RV's. The City has had a couple of cases
where property owners allow friends or relatives to store their RV's, boats.
or other recreational equipment on their property. The Council had some
discussion related to enforcement and determining ownership of this
storage, as well as whether or not there should be a maximum number
placed on this type of outdoor storage. There was also discussion about
people using garage space for storage of materials other than vehicles as
well as the rental of garage space. The City Administrator indicated that
currently most of these issues are dealt with on acomplaint-basis.
Given the number of open issues as well as additional questions and
comments that the Council has, the consensus was to continue the public
hearing and schedule a workshop meeting.
Ms. Allan introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOL UTION NO.2008-8-20I -CONTINUING THE PUBLIC
HEARING ON THE PROPOSED ZONING CODE AND PROPOSED
SUBDIVISION CODE UNTIL A DATE TO SE DETERMINED BY
THE CITYADMINISTRATOR
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Keis.
Ayes (5).
Nays (0).
