MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />SEPTEMBER 10, 2008 <br />demands in this area, the Administrator recommended that the position be <br />made full-time effective September 15, 2008. He noted that the proposed <br />2009 Budget includes the full-time position, and that the 2008 Budget has <br />an adequate surplus to cover the increased cost for this budget year. <br />Ms. Allan introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOL UTION NO. 2008-9-221- AUTHORIZING THE FIRE <br />MARSHAL POSITIONAS A FULL-TIME POSITION EFFECTIVE <br />SEPTEMBER 15, 2008 AS RECOMMENDED BY THE CITY <br />ADMINISTRATOR <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by McGraw. <br />Ayes (5). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />VALOR The City Administrator reported that, as discussed at a Council closed <br />LITIGATION session, Lori Peterson, Valor Enterprises, would like to make a <br />presentation to the Council explaining their side of the litigation and <br />presenting the Council with a settlement offer. The Administrator <br />indicated that it is his understanding that the settlement offer will not <br />include the City's purchase of the property, but rather a request for <br />damages to be paid by the City. The Administrator indicated that the City <br />Attorney and the League of Minnesota Cities Attorney, which represents <br />Little Canada, is recommending that the Council schedule a meeting to <br />hear this presentation. <br />Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOL UTION NO. 2008-9-222 - CALLING A SPECIAL MEETING <br />FOR MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 22, 2008, AT 5:00 P.M.
