Pavement Alternatives
Alternative 2:
Alternative 3:
An all concrete alternative will remove the existing pavers and replace them with a standard and colored concrete. The concrete will, for the most part, reflect the existing decorative colors and layout as included along the corridor today. Additional decorative stamping of the colored concrete segments would also be included. A Pedestrian Access Route (PAR) will be identified in standard concrete finish. This will ensure a smooth walking surface and allow for a more seamless repair of damaged panels in the future.
Six-Foot Sidewalk - Pedestrian Access Route (PAR)
Typical Feature IntersectionRice Street Entry Layout - Northeast Corner Street Light
Entry Monument
Overstory Trees
Little Canada Road Streetscape Improvement Project
All Concrete
Six-Foot Sidewalk - Pedestrian Access Route (PAR)
Typical Feature IntersectionRice Street Entry Layout - Northeast Corner Street Light
Entry Monument
Overstory Trees
Paver/Concrete Mix
A mix of concrete and pavers will emphasize the Pedestrian Access Route (PAR), constructed in standard concrete to lessen long-term maintenance and ensure a smooth walking surface, while still maintaining the character of the corridor today. Pavers will remain along the back-of-curb (BOC) - where the majority of 4”x8” red pavers exist currently - with the buff colored bands that run perpendicular to the curb being replaced with a stamped colored concrete of a similar buff color.
Red colored conc., Stamped
Buff colored conc., Stamped
Standard Concrete PAR
Red colored conc., Stamped
Concrete Bollard
Street Light
Planting Bed
Standard conc., Stamped
Buff colored conc., Stamped
Standard Concrete PAR
Red Pavers, 4”x8”
Concrete Bollard
Street Light
Planting Bed
